Dear Editor: On Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, I invited, and had the pleasure of taking one of my best friends, and his Marine son, Austin Phillips, (age 17 / Delayed Entry Program), to breakfast at Vizunz’s. Upon my arrival, I was early. When they arrived and Austin walked in with his “Blues on Uniform,” I was so proud and speechless. He looked like he should be on a Marine billboard. Austin just graduated from Paris Island, and is home for a short visit. Dear Editor: A Valentine from Above. God sends His Love to us. Will you receive a Valentine of Love? Only believe that our Lord Jesus will never leave us or forsake us. Not for just a day, but every day, His Love is real. Can we return His Love by loving Him in return? Dear Editor: At riding on coattails, Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) is the epitome of that political idiom. Sen. Brown rode into Congress in the wake of “Bush bashing,” Obama hysteria — and what an easy ride it was. Lighting needs addressed

Dear Editor: Who is responsible for the lights on the highway leading onto the Ohio/West Virginia bridge? Who is responsible for the lights that line the road leading into East Liverpool coming from the East End? Could this have been a factor in the accident where a truck hit the split abutment and flipped into the river? It is a dangerous situation that has been ongoing for too long! Dear Editor: Six months ago, County Commissioners and designated employees seized operation of the Hancock County Animal Shelter. Before that, the Hancock County Animal Shelter Foundation successfully managed the shelter for nearly 20 years, and during its tenure it gained the confidence and gratitude of Hancock County — evident by the generous levies passed in favor of the animals and a humane operation.
