Men’s Rally in the Valley spirit lives on

To the editor: Greetings from Men of Faith. If you are familiar with the Men’s Rally in the Valley you know that we suffered a devastating blow just three months prior to the last Rally. The loss of our President, Bing Newton, put the whole organization into a tail spin. As an organization we were in conflict. “But God” the theme for the 2022 Rally took on a whole new meaning for those of us who depended on Bing’s direction. Community members fighting proposed solar project

To the editor: We in Franklin Township are, involuntarily, in the fight for our livelihood and way of life. A massive industrial-sized solar project is threatening to engulf 2,264 acres of our beautiful township. Three non-resident landowners (and one landowner with no panels planned near their residence) have signed 35-year leases with a Canadian company to occupy farmland with solar panels. Fond moments of the EL All-Class Reunion

To the editor: Our company has all gone home. The house is quiet now, but it’s great to remember what a wonderful time we enjoyed during the EL All-Class Reunion. Jeannie Casto Dunlevy, my first grade friend from Glenmoor in 1937, returned from Fredrick, Maryland, as did Francis Bentz from Stuart, Florida, and they both enjoyed the old guard luncheon with us on Friday. The EL High School students served, cleaned the tables and even valet parked our cars. Shout out to rally organizer

To the editor: I’m writing to give a shout out to 17- year- old Lena Rohr, East Liverpool, for organizing a great Pro Choice Rally July 10 in Lisbon. I’m also writing to set straight the number of people who attended the event as reported by local news stations. There were about 200 people of all ages in favor of abortion access, while at any one time the most anti-choice protesters had was 30 people, of gray-haired age. To the editor: The U.S. health care system is largely dependent on the support of travel nurses to survive. Whether it comes to hospitals, clinics, or other care facilities, travel nurses help maintain the health and safety of patients and facilities by adding a much-needed layer of support. For decades, nurses have struggled with long hours, high stress, and minimal pay and overtime. Our hospitals, patients, and the profession as a whole have suffered because of it. To the editor: America’s Great Lakes states are known for manufacturing. Mighty Ohio manufactures steel to electronic chips. 84.65 percent of Ohio’s manufacturers have under 100 employees, but equal 42.3 percent of Ohio’s manufacturing workforce, according to SBA’s Office of Advocacy.
