To the editor:

I am writing in regards to (East Liverpool) Safety Service Director Dawson wanting to get rid of the city water department due to cost! Safety Service Director Dawson purchased a lot of big equipment that took away from the operating revenue.

He had made the comment at two city council finance meetings that they just need to get rid of the department and no one on council said anything!

It appeared to be that when he took the office of Safety Service Director that this has been part of his plan. It is truly a conflict of interest for him to have any say in what the water department does because he is on the board with the Buckeye Water District. He should step down from either the Buckeye Water District or his Safety Service Director position. Council needs to remember that they work for the citizens of East Liverpool.
