James ‘Jamie’ Wright
1956-2026
James “Jamie” Wright, 69, of East Liverpool, passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026. He was born on Aug. 15, 1956, the son of the late James and Bonnivere (Owen) Wright. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca “Becky” Ice.
Jamie was a graduate of East Liverpool High School, and the Newcastle School of Trade. His employment over the years was vast, working for, Airport, Willow Brook Sand and Gravel, Pitt Express, Ohio Brass, Newell Porcelain, and last working at Rogers Sale as a grounds keeper. He was a member of the LaCroft Church of the Nazarene, where he held multiple positions with the Church. Jamie was a hard worker, he liked working on old cars and he enjoyed the outdoors and doing yard work. He loved life, his family and especially his grandchildren. He had a smile and a story that would brighten your day. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 51 and a half years, Barbara (Aikens) Wright at home; a son, Michael “Mike” (Crystal) Wright of East Liverpool, and a daughter, Vanessa (Mike) Messenger, of East Liverpool; four grandchildren, Emily Wright, Renee Wright, Adam Wright, and Gemma Messenger. He is also survived by a brother, Clarence “Dutch” (Hilary) Wright, of East Liverpool, and a brother-in-law, Stanley Ice, of East Liverpool.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, at the Nixon Funeral Home of Newell from 4 to 6 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Private interment will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
