Pauline Wood

1934-2025

It is with a heavy heart but also a spirit full of gratitude that we announce the passing of the beloved Pauline Wood, who gracefully departed from this world on May 19, 2025, at her home in Weirton. Born on Sept. 7, 1934, in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late Harrison E. and Louizel Shreve Butcher, Pauline’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love and kindness.

She is now reunited with her dear husband, Noah Samuel Wood, and her cherished siblings, along with her grandson, David Nolder, leaving behind a legacy of love that will always be remembered. Pauline dedicated many years of her life to working at TS&T Pottery and was a proud member of the First Methodist Church in Chester.

Her warmth will be profoundly missed by her children: Noah Samuel Wood Jr. (Joyce), Wilma J. Nolder (Casper), James L. Wood (Rebecca), Barbara S. Metzmeier (Jim), and Marie E. Parker (Dave); brother, Howard L. Butcher (Carmen) of Columbus, as well as her 15 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Join us as we celebrate Pauline’s remarkable life on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Arner Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m., with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be held at Locust Hill Cemetery. Let’s honor her memory together.
