LISBON — An East Liverpool man accused of concealing a loaded handgun in 2019 was ordered to prison for 12 months after being found in violation of the terms of his probation.

Dacious Coles, 29, West Fourth Street, East Liverpool, appeared recently in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court regarding the probation violation, with his participation in drug court dishonorably terminated.

He was resentenced to 12 months in prison for carrying a concealed weapon, a fourth-degree felony, and 90 days in jail for resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, with both terms to be served at the same time. He received credit for 138 days already served.

The charges stemmed from an incident on June 6, 2019 when Coles possessed a loaded 9mm handgun during a traffic stop when he was a passenger in Wellsville.

Also in Common Pleas Court:

— Justina Desarro, 35, Curry Street, East Liverpool, was ordered to serve up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center in Lisbon and to participate in drug court for a period not to exceed five years after pleading guilty to charges from three separate indictments. She entered the guilty pleas to two counts of fourth-degree felony trespass when a person is present or likely to be present, third-degree felony tampering with evidence, fifth-degree felony possession of drugs and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. She was accused of entering a residence in St. Clair Township without permission on Sept. 4, 2024 while the resident was sleeping and also possessed a paper fold being used as a container to hold an unknown powder inside her purse when placed under arrest. On Feb. 19, 2024, she trespassed at a residence and on Feb. 17, 2024, she possessed bromazolam and tampered with evidence.

— Sarah L. Maze, 46, Beaver, Pa., pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, with sentencing set for Nov. 7. Maze possessed cocaine on March 6, 2022.

— Michael David Bruce, 29, Sell Road, Lisbon, was placed on an intervention plan for 18 months after pleading guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing methamphetamine on Oct. 27, 2023.

— Joseph L. Murphy, 46, Walnut Street, Leetonia, appeared recently for a probation violation and had his community control extended by one year until Sept. 11, 2026 due to the violation. His case involved two counts of nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for failing to pay support for two children from Dec. 6, 2020 to Dec. 4, 2022.

Grand Jury

LISBON — Multiple secret indictments issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury were served Tuesday, including several for drug charges, along with grand theft and vandalism.

Secret indictments served included:

— Ciera N. Rowley, 36, Park Avenue, Salem, grand theft, a fourth-degree felony, for allegedly stealing money from Sept. 20, 2023 to Feb. 2, 2025.

— Robert P. Bowyer, 57, Moore Road, East Liverpool, vandalism, a fifth-degree felony, for alleged damage done to property on Jun 20, 2025.

— Bradley M. Cianni, 39, Chester Avenue, Wellsville, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on Feb. 15, 2025.

— Ashley R. McGuire, 37, East State Street, Salem, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on Nov. 16, 2024.

— Bryan P. Malone, 37, Grimms Bridge Road, East Liverpool, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs and misdemeanor illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing oxycodone and drug paraphernalia on March 3, 2025.

— Christopher A. Stauffer, 43, North Street, Beloit, nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly failing to pay child support from Feb. 26, 2023 to Feb. 23, 2025.

— Jason L. Conkle, 47, Dewey Avenue, East Liverpool, nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly failing to pay child support from Jan. 1, 2023 to Dec. 29, 2024.
