Liverpool Township

— An unnamed female driver was issued a citation and court date for failure to yield after nearly causing an accident at the intersection of Rubicon Street and Parkway Avenue. The officer asked what she was doing as she nearly caused an accident that could have been serious enough to seriously injure or kill the child she had in the back seat and the passenger she had in the front seat. The driver said she was looking at her GPS. She was holding her cell phone using it as a GPS.

— An officer sitting stationary on Dresden Avenue heard a vehicle with a loud exhaust and conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 4. The unnamed driver was found to not have a license and told to call someone for a ride. The driver was cited and issued a court for no license and having a loud exhaust.

— An officer sitting stationary on state Route 7 on Aug. 5 observed a vehicle moving faster than the others and turned on his radar. The vehicle was clocked at 70 mph in a 55-mph zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop and issued the unnamed driver a citation and court date for speeding.

Sheriff’s Office

— A man in Hanover Township called at 8:51 p.m. Tuesday to request a welfare check on his son, who lives on Shady Lane, Center Township, due to not being able to reach him by phone. A deputy spoke to the son, who was fine and said he doesn’t have a working telephone at this time.

— A man in Perry Township reported at 8:31 p.m. Tuesday that he rented a residence he owns on Lisa Lane, Center Township, to another man, alleging that the other man moved out and allegedly took items that were to stay inside the residence. He was advised to take the other man to small claims court.

— A deputy was dispatched at 7:38 p.m. Tuesday to the Dollar General, state Route 172, Center Township, for a report of threats and harassment. A warrant for aggravated menacing was issued out of Columbiana County Municipal Court for a Center Township resident.

— A man on Rochester Road, West Township, reported at 7 p.m. Tuesday that his neighbor’s vehicle is blocking the alley and the garbage truck could not get through. A deputy spoke with the neighbor, who said he will make sure his vehicle is not blocking the alley.

— A woman on Grant Street, Center Township reported at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday that a man tried to poison her and told a deputy that the man put meth in her Crush soda while she was in the hospital. She advised this happened sometime before she got out of the hospital and said she wanted a report on file. She said she already reported it to Stark County and the state police.

— A deputy was dispatched at 7:11 p.m. Aug. 8 to the 41000 block of Glasgow Road, Madison Township for a truck with Progressive Solutions on it, spraying something on private property and along the roadway. A deputy checked the area, with no contact with anyone.

— A deputy was dispatched at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 8 to the parking lot of Dairy Queen, state Route 45, Center Township, for a man walking in a circle for over four hours. Upon arrival, the staff said he left walking on foot. A deputy checked the area, but didn’t find anyone.

— A Lisbon man requested a welfare check at 5:57 p.m. Aug. 8 on his 10-year-old son who’s at his grandparents’ residence on St. Jacobs Logtown Road, Center Township. A deputy made contact with the juvenile, who was fine.

— Two people were reported lying in the grass off the side of the roadway in the 17000 block of state Route 45, Madison Township at 5:56 p.m. Aug. 8. A deputy checked the area, but didn’t find anyone.

— A Butler Township man reported at 3:31 p.m. Aug. 8 that his ex-girlfriend was moving out of his Valley Road residence and she had an unknown male at the property that he could see on his camera.
