Grand Jury

LISBON — Two drug defendants were served Wednesday with secret indictments issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury.

Cheyanne Garvis, 24, Maine Boulevard, East Liverpool, was charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, both third-degree felonies, for allegedly preparing to sell and possessing methamphetamine in an amount equal or greater than bulk but less than five times bulk on Feb. 8.

Brandon Huff, 30, Youngstown, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on May 22, 2024.

LISBON — A Lisbon man accused of running from deputies after being handcuffed for a warrant for a protection order violation was recently sentenced to 12 months in prison.

Joshua Gallimore, 37, East Liverpool Road, appeared for sentencing in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court for two separate indictments, with all the prison terms ordered served at the same time for the total of 12 months. He received credit for 123 days already served.

The charges included third-degree felony escape and fifth-degree felonies of violating a protection order and possession of a fentanyl-related compound. Charges of obstructing official business, possession of drugs and resisting arrest were dismissed.

He was accused of running from deputies after being handcuffed behind his back on a warrant for a felony protection order violation on April 5 in Madison Township. An affidavit from a deputy said Gallimore jumped down a steep embankment into a river with the handcuffs, with one deputy continuing after him and injuring his right knee. Gallimore ignored multiple commands to stop running. He was accused of possessing Xylazine and fentanyl on July 22, 2024.

Also in Common Pleas Court:

— Jontay Johnson, 30, Greentree Place, Lisbon, pleaded guilty to third-degree felony domestic violence, fourth-degree felony strangulation, and misdemeanor obstructing official business, with sentencing set for Oct. 8. A charge of misdemeanor domestic violence will be dismissed. Johnson was accused of causing harm to a woman and strangling her on Jan. 27 with at least three previous convictions for domestic violence on his record. On Jan. 28, he was accused of obstructing officials and again causing harm to the woman.

— Todd Ritchie, 47, last known address East Third Street, Salem, entered guilty to pleas to charges from five separate indictments, with sentencing set for Sept. 19. The charges included two counts of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, one count of third-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs, two counts of fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs and an unclassified misdemeanor of operating a motor vehicle or motorcycle without a valid license. He was accused of fleeing from a state trooper attempting a traffic stop on May 10 on U.S. Route 62 in Knox Township, reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph during the pursuit, which was terminated in Alliance. He was also accused of fleeing from police attempting a traffic stop on July 26 in Salem while he was operating a motorcycle. For the drug charges, he possessed methamphetamine on Sept. 14, 2023, March 14, 2024 and June 17, 2024.

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, cases against Christopher Micha Burns, 41, Glassport, Pa., were bound over to the county grand jury for third-degree felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanors of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Burns was accused of allegedly responding to an undercover familial ad on a known prostitution website of an adult mother trafficking her daughter and arranging for sexual activity with the daughter for $140, sending $60 of the fee to an undercover account through a Cash App, then arriving in East Palestine for the meeting on Aug. 8. He was found in possession of a phone concealed under a pile of personal belongings in his truck and was prohibited from owning a smart phone as a condition of his probation for a case involving video recording a minor in a state of unity and sexual conduct with a minor, according to an affidavit by an agent of the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.

A case against Anthony Carosiello, 39, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, was bound over to the county grand jury for felonious assault, a second-degree felony, for allegedly hitting another man with his vehicle after an alleged road rage incident on June 3 in Wellsville. The victim said he was standing in the grass next to the exit ramp on state Route 7 when the defendant allegedly drove over the curb and hit him with the vehicle.

A preliminary hearing was set Aug. 25 for Tyrone Davis, 52, 15th Street, Wellsville, charged with third-degree felony domestic violence for allegedly slapping a woman on the left side of her face on Aug. 12 in Wellsville.

Jesse M. Jackson, 45, Lisbon, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 133 suspended and credit for 47 days served, for assault. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to have no contact with the victim. He had originally had his case bound over for misdemeanor assault and fifth-degree felony strangulation, but then the case was returned to Municipal Court just for misdemeanor assault. He was accused of shoving the victim through a table and pinning him to the ground after a verbal confrontation over dishes on June 28 in Lisbon.

Tomasa Lopez Larios Alonzo, 26, East Fourth Street, Salem, was fined $300 for two counts of disorderly conduct, amended from domestic violence and resisting arrest. She was accused of shoving a man and striking him in the face and then resisting when officers were taking her into custody on June 1 in Salem.

Sean Michael Murphy, 56, Cortland, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and an online course. He was accused of responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exhange for money, then arriving in East Palestine on Aug, 2, 2024 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.

Brandon S. Miles, 34, Huxley Road, Salem was fined $200 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for possessing criminal tools, amended from engaging in prostitution. He was ordered to complete 25 hours community service and an online prostitution prevention course. Miles was accused of requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent for an agreed upon price of $100, then driving to Salem on Jan. 22 for the meeting.

Brian Christopher White, 30, Wooster, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and an education course. White requested sexual conduct from an undercover agent for an agreed upon price of $160, then drove to Salem on May 23 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.

Eric Pagani, 43, McKinnon Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for theft. He was ordered to complete 30 hours community service and have no contact with the Calcutta Walmart. He was also ordered to pay restitution of $37.51 to Walmart. Pagani failed to scan and pay for one item totaling $34.97 at the Calcutta Walmart on May 23.

William Grafton, 41, West Pershing Street, Salem, was fined $100 and sentenced to two days in jail, with credit for two days served, for disorderly conduct. He received no fine for drug paraphernalia. Grafton was accused of smoking marijuana in a Centennial Park pavilion in Salem and then becoming agitated and yelling vulgar language when approached by police on Aug. 12. He persisted in the disorderly behavior when warned by officers to stop.

Harold Bell Jr., 62, North Howard Avenue, Salem, was fined $100 for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for taking a woman’s vehicle without permission on July 14 in Salem.

A pretrial was set Aug. 28 for Myron Youngblood, 44, Fawcett Street, East Liverpool, charged with two counts of criminal trespass for allegedly trespassing in a condemned house in East Liverpool on Jan. 27 and being on another property in East Liverpool on Nov. 8, 2023 after being told several times he can’t be there and given several chances to move his belongings.

A pretrial was set Oct. 23 for Wilbert Faulk Jr., 40, East Liverpool Road, East Liverpool, charged with criminal mischief for allegedly puncturing all four tires and the spare on a Jeep in East Liverpool on July 5.

A pretrial was set Nov. 27 for Nicholas Desimone, 19, Alpha Street, East Liverpool, charged with obstructing official business and possession of drug abuse instrument for allegedly giving a false name to police investigating a report of a suspicious person in East Liverpool on Aug. 2 and possessing a burnt glass pipe known to be used for smoking narcotics.

A pretrial was set Oct. 28 for Eric McVicker, 26, Alice Street, East Palestine, charged with driving under suspension and marked lanes.

A pretrial was set Oct. 28 for Christy Rohn, 33, Benton Road, Salem, charged with driving under suspension and driving while texting.

A pretrial was set Oct. 27 for Michael Bruce, 29, South Broadway Avenue, Salem, charged with driving under suspension and no turn signal.

A pretrial was set Oct. 21 for Jason Kane, 42, Erie Street, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Nov. 18 for Jason Ramsey, 43, Gonzales Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with speeding.

Bobbie Doss, 45, Park Avenue, Salem, was fined $250 for driving under suspension.

Kurt Brown, 45, Alice Street, East Palestine, was ordered to serve five days in jail for violating his probation for a 2024 case for operating a vehicle impaired, no license and expired registration. A review hearing was set for Oct. 30.

George Manso Jr., Cleveland, was fined $150 for an equipment violation amended from speeding. A charge of turn signal violation was dismissed.

Brian Bigus, 28, New Middletown, was fined $30 for traffic control devices.

Donielle Peak, 30, Beaver Falls, Pa., was fined $180 for driving under suspension and speeding.

Ryan Jenkins, 40, St. Clair Ave., East Liverpool, was fined $40 for temporary permit required.

Kathyn Perry, 38, Youngstown, was fined $30 for speeding.

Caleb Crawford, 31, state Route 45, Lisbon, was fined $50 for speeding. A charge of no seat belt was dismissed.

Leonard Nichols, 65, Oak Street, East Liverpool, was fined $130 for driving under suspension and loud exhaust.
