— Officers were flagged down by a group of kids on Blakely Street to let them know about a loose dog on Sept. 19. Officers were able to locate the dog’s owner and the dog was returned.
— Officers responded to a report of people yelling in the street on Avondale Street on Sept. 19. They checked the area but didn’t find anything.
— Frederick Lyda Jr. was issued a citation and court date for driving without a valid license, reckless operation and drug paraphernalia after a Sept. 19 traffic stop on Dresden Avenue.
— Officers responded on sept. 20 to a report for possible drug activity at a residence on Ohio Avenue with heavy vehicle traffic. Officers checked the area but did not find anything.
— A driver was released with a warning following a Sept. 20 traffic stop on Walnut Street for improper display of plates
— A male subject told officers he would leave for the night after officers responded to the residence in 300 block of Shadylane on Sept. 20 for a verbal domestic dispute.
— An officer on patrol on Pennsylvania Avenue on Sept. 20 noticed a front loader with hazard lights on. He checked the area but found no one.
— Officers responded to a dispute between a male and female on Smithfield Street on Sept. 20. The male would not let the female in the residence to gather her property and leave. After the officers arrived, she was able to get her property and leave.
— A female called police to report assault charges over a lawnmower on Ohio Avenue on Sept. 20 after being shoved off a male’s property and told to leave. The female told officers she didn’t have the paperwork to prove the mower was hers, but she wanted her mower. Officers told her when she had the paperwork proving it was hers, they would do a civil standby for her to get it.
— A male on Shadylane Drive was advised by officers on Sept. 20 that he would need to calm down after neighbors complained of his yelling.
— Officers told a male that he was on private property and needed to leave after responding to a trespass complaint in the 700 block of Armstrong Avenue on Sept. 20. The male who agreed to leave told officers earlier in the day one of his passengers threw their cell phone out of the car and into the woods and he was trying to find it.
— Workers told officers responding to an alarm drop in the 400 block of Mulberry Street on Sept. 20 that it was a false alarm, and they accidentally tripped it.
— Officers spoke with two males in the area of Smith Street regarding suspicious activity on Sept. 20. The males said they were going to the BP gas station. The office told them the gas station was closed and they left the area.
— An unnamed driver was released with a warning following a Sept. 20 traffic stop on Dresden Avenue for an Ohio license that was suspended. The officer investigated and learned the license was suspended in Pennsylvania, not Ohio and advised the driver of Pennsylvania suspension and let him go with a warning.
— Officers investigated a request from LEADS to check an individual at a residence on Manor Lane for a threat that was made on Tik Tok with a phone number tied to that address on Sept. 20. Officers spoke with the resident and found he has never had a Tik Tok and has had the same phone number for years.
— Officers collected information on a dog bite in the 600 block of St. Clair Avenue on Sept. 20 and forwarded that information to the dog warden for investigation.
New Waterford
— Officers responded to the 3200 block of Creek Road at 1:30 p.m. Monday to check the welfare of a man in a garbage truck. Officers spoke with the man and found he had just been sleeping.
— Officers responded to the 3200 block of Creek Road at 11:32 a.m. Sept. 20 in reference to a domestic dispute between two juvenile siblings. Officers determined no actual violence or threats had occurred.
Columbiana
— Officers were dispatched at 7:51 p.m. Saturday for a suicidal individual in the 300 block of Kingwood Avenue.
— Police took a report at 12:57 p.m. Saturday on station of a disturbance in the first block of South Vine Street.
— Schmerz McGee, of Youngstown, was cited at 10:15 p.m. Sept. 20 after a traffic stop near state Routes 14 and 46.
— Columbiana Exempted School District reported at 3:25 p.m. Sept. 20 that an employee’s email was hacked, affecting the employee’s payroll. The investigation continues.
— A female subject reported at 12:15 p.m. Sept. 20 that she was the victim of a hit-skip at Wendy’s.
— Theodore Gelinas, of Youngstown, was cited at 8:46 p.m. Sept. 19 near Stanton Avenue and Main Street for driving under suspension.
— Jordan Scheller, of Columbiana, was arrested at 10:41 p.m. Sept. 19 in the 100 block of South Elm Street on an active warrant through the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office.
— A male subject reported at 10:50 a.m. Sept. 16 on station that he was the possible victim of identity theft. No other information was provided.
— Kaitlyn Bishop, of East Palestine, was cited at 1:45 p.m. Sept. 15 for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at state Route 14 and Park Avenue.
— Jamie Tice, no address listed, was arrested shortly after midnight Sept. 15 on an outstanding warrant from the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office following a disturbance on Edgewood Drive.
Goshen
–Morgan Kane, 23, Leetonia, was cited for disobeying traffic control devices after his eastbound vehicle on Youngstown-Salem Road was observed stopping at a red light before continuing through the intersection while the light was still red at 12:11 a.m. Saturday.
–Officers responded to the 9300 block of Knauf Road at 1:02 a.m. Saturday for a reported abandoned vehicle. Officers searched the area for the driver but were unable to locate them. During an inventory of the vehicle prior to being towed by Sinsley Towing located two STNA badges, and a driver’s license in the vehicle. The Campbell Police Department was requested to send an officer to contact the owner, who advised that their daughter was driving the vehicle, and she did not know why it had been abandoned. The owner also advised that the juvenile was in Austintown at that time. Officers advised the owner her vehicle was towed and how to retrieve it.
–Zander Setlock, 19, Sebring, was cited for speeding and warned for no rear illumination of his license plate after his eastbound vehicle on state Route 165 was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 7:43 p.m. Friday.
–Officers responded to the 6000 block of West Calla Road at 12:23 p.m. Friday for a wellness check on a child that had not been to school in a few days. When officers arrived, they observed two dogs tied to separate trees with no food or water, a broken screen door handle, and the main door to have no bottom and be unable to latch shut. Officers spoke with the child’s father who advised that they had Covid and were staying at home to social distance from other students. Officers notified South Range’s school resource officer.
–Sydney Leone, 23, Canfield, was cited for speeding after her southeast-bound vehicle on Cleveland East Liverpool Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 1:32 a.m. Friday.
–Steven Fernandez, 32, Salem, was cited for expired registration and warned for speeding after his southeast bound vehicle on Cleveland-East Liverpool Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 18.
–Christopher Magsamen, 47, Broadview Heights, was cited for speeding after his eastbound vehicle on Alliance-Salem Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 5:09 p.m. Sept. 18.
–Christopher White, 21, Alliance, was cited for driving under suspension, and warned for speeding and display of plates after his westbound vehicle on state Route 165 was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit with no visible plate at 8:25 p.m. Sept. 18.
–Officers responded to the area of Seacrist Road near West Pine Lake Road at 2:56 p.m. Sept. 18, for a report of a combine on fire. Officers performed traffic control until the fire was extinguished by the Damascus Fire Department, The combine was removed from the roadway.
–Deann Howard, 53, McDonald, was cited for speeding after her southbound vehicle on Green Beaver Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 2:50 p.m. Sept. 18.
–Robert Spatz, 19, Salem, was cited for speeding after her northbound vehicle on Beaver Creek Road was observed travelling in excess of the speed limit at 1:34 p.m. Sept 18.
–Kaileigh Mitchley, 35, Columbiana, was cited for speeding after her southbound vehicle on Green Beaver Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 7:55 a.m. Sept. 18.
–Officers responded to 11000 block of West Middletown Road at 7:21 p.m. Sept. 17 for a report of a man burning radiator parts. Officers spoke with the resident advising them of the complaint, who apologized and advised he was burning a couch. The remnants of the fire were put out by the Damascus Fire Department, and the resident was advised that the matter would be documented and next time he would be cited or referred to the Ohio EPA.
–Nathan Hall, 34, Youngstown, was cited for speeding after his southbound vehicle on Pricetown Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 3:20 p.m. Sept. 17.
–Kevin Mutton, 46, Kensington, was cited for speeding after his eastbound vehicle on West South Range Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 3:35 p.m. Sept. 17.
— Caden West, 16, Salem, was cited for speeding after his southeast bound vehicle on Egypt Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit.
