— Officers responded to the 800 block of East State Street at 11:12 p.m. Friday for reports of people allegedly living in a storage box. Two people were located and were advised to leave the area and not return. After they left, officers located suspected narcotics and paraphernalia hidden underneath the box.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue at 7:59 p.m. Friday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that cats were seized from the residence months ago, and the owner now has more, and dead kittens were found in shelters in the back of the property. Officers checked the boxes and observed two dead kittens and attempted to contact the homeowner, but they were not present.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of Vine Avenue at 7:22 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers spoke with the occupants of the vehicle who were talking and deciding on something to eat.
— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Meadowview Drive at 6:50 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a man parked in the street, walked up to the door, and left the area upon seeing people were home.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 4:35 p.m. Friday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. The person in question was taken into custody without issue and $100 was seized and placed into evidence.
— The school resource officer was advised of a student having a mental health issue at 2:51 p.m. Friday. The student’s parents were called, and he was talking with the counselor. Nothing else was needed at that time.
— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 2:19 p.m. Friday for a report of a possible scam. The caller advised that someone had called and tried to get information from them, but they had not given any out, and she just needed a report on file.
— The school resource officer was advised by a student that she received a text message from an unknown email making threatening statement towards her. Officers gathered the info and checked with the school to see if the email was a school issued account, and the tech advisor confirmed it was not. The matter is under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 12:47 p.m. Friday for a wellness check. The caller advised that she has not talked to her adult son in over a month. Officers spoke with the son and advised him to contact the caller.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 11:59 a.m. Friday for a report of someone throwing a coffee cup at the caller’s bedroom window the night prior. No damage was caused but the caller’s landlord advised them to file a report, and the caller requested an extra watch in the neighborhood.
–Officers responded to the area of Sharp Avenue and West State Street at 7:06 p.m. Sunday for a reported dispute. Officers spoke with the involved parties and found the dispute was verbal only.
