Sheriff’s Office

— A deputy was dispatched at 9:39 p.m. Sept. 14 to Middleton Road, Fairfield Township for a domestic dispute report.

— A Boardman woman reported at 8:46 p.m. Sept. 14 that she was en route to Canal Street, Hanover Township to pick up her children due to their father threatening suicide. Deputies spoke with him and he said he did not make any statement of threatening suicide and he was having a custody issue with her. She left the residence with one of the two children.

— Deputies were dispatched at 10:09 p.m. Sept. 13 to Grant Street, Rogers for a domestic violence report between a man and his stepdaughter. Another man at the property, Seth Mora, 30, Grant Street, Rogers was taken into custody on an active warrant out of Columbiana County Municipal Court and taken to the county jail. He was charged with fourth-degree felony disrupting public services and misdemeanor domestic violence for an Aug. 18 incident in Rogers.

— A deputy was dispatched at 7:27 p.m. Sept. 13 to Georgetown Road, Knox Township for an assault report.

— A woman on Georgetown Road, Knox Township reported at 3:42 p.m. Sept. 13 that her ex-boyfriend was moving out of the residence, but had not gotten all of his belongings and she wanted him out. She was advised this was a civil matter and explained the eviction process.

St. Clair Township

–A male came into the police station on Sept. 6 to file a report for Ebay fraud.

–An officer responded on Sept. 6 to the 50000 block of Stagecoach Road for a vandalism report.

— Officers responded to the Four Seasons Mini Mart on Sept. 6 for a private property crash.

–Following a Sept 7 traffic stop on St. Clair Avenue, in which a K9 was used to conduct an open-air sniff on the vehicle, passenger Kazon Carter was charged with drug paraphernalia and issued a summons for court.

–A female has been banned from being on Giant Eagle Property after stealing flowers from the floral department on Sept. 8. The manager did not want to pursue charges. But in the future If she is found on the property, she will be charged for criminal trespass.

Wellsville

–A male called the police station on Sept. 5 to report his bike had been stolen from his backyard. He told police his security camera captured a male taken the bike.

— Officers responded to a Main Street residence on Sept. 5, after the owner called and said a previous renter had been sending her messages threatening to have someone break into the building. When the owner went to the residence her key would not work because the locks had been glued. Officers are waiting on copies of the messages and checking nearby cameras. Once the information is recieved it will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

— A female called the police station on Sept. 7 to report her bike had been stolen from her residence in the 700 block of Broadway and the theft was on video. The person who stole the bike was identified and officers went to his residence. The bike was returned later that the day. The female said since she got the bike back, she did not want to press charges.

— Officers responded to a report of a theft on Sept. 11 at the Dollar General Store. Officers spoke with the manager who said that a customer came in purchased four items and as he was leaving picked up a blue tooth speaker and walked out without paying for it. An investigation is pending.

Liverpool Township

–An officer sitting stationary checking license plates on state Route 7 on Sept. 15, observed a vehicle with a loud exhaust and non-working license plate light. The officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle under suspension. The driver was not the owner of the vehicle. The officer had the vehicle towed to the owner’s residence. The owner could collect her belongings, and he could confiscate the plates and registration at the request of the Ohio BMV.

–Brent Allen, 37, Kings Ridge Road, was arrested on Sept. 17 and charged with misconduct at an emergency scene and released with a court date. Allen was arguing with and yelling and swearing at random neighbors while officers were on the scene of a fire. The arresting officer observed Allen run into the open garage of the residence on fire and a firefighter had to run after him to stop him from entering the burning building.

Salem

— Officers responded to the area of South Union Avenue at 7:44 a.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person. Officers were advised that a woman attempted to jump in front of a moving vehicle and proceeded to yell at the driver. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the woman.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 1:55 a.m. Thursday for a report of fraud. She advised that while trying to get a line of credit online she provided her personal information on a few credit sites and had now received an email that someone was attempting to open credit cards in her name. She was provided advice on who to contact and how to proceed.

— Officers on patrol in the 2300 block of West State Street at 1:33 a.m. Thursday observed a woman in the bins behind a business. Officers spoke with the woman who advised she was just taking empty boxes for moving out.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the woman in question who advised they were on their way back from a concert and were fine.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 10:02 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious vehicle taking pictures of houses. Officers spoke with the occupants of the vehicle who advised he was looking for a place to buy or rent and had been taking photos, which he showed to officers. The person was advised to look for places during daylight hours if he was going to take photos, and to leave the area for the night, which he did.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 7:43 p.m. Wednesday to speak with the caller about ongoing issues. Officers spoke with them for an extended period and eased their concerns and confirmed they were OK.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 7:38 p.m. Wednesday for a speak with officer report. The caller was seeking advice on how to handle a situation with their daughter.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. When officers arrived the person in question was already on their bike and leaving, and everything was OK.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 6:34 p.m. Wednesday who reported that his bank account was hacked and that $900 had been taken. The man advised he was able to get the money back and has since changed his account numbers and had just received an email that another attempt was made on his account from the same number as before and wanted the incident documented.

— Officers responded to the area of state Route 344 to check for a reckless vehicle that had allegedly nearly struck the caller’s vehicle and was heading toward the city. Officers remained in the area for over ten minutes but did not observe any vehicles matching the description.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Fourteenth Street at 2:33 p.m. Wednesday for a reported person to be removed. Officers checked the residence, but the man was not there and visiting the neighbor instead. The neighbor advised the man was their friend and was allowed to be there.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Fourteenth Street at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person. Officers spoke with them, and they advised that they were gathering belongings from the house. Officers advised them that the home owner, who was not home, did not want them on the property.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 11:44 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a vehicle that had rolled down the road and struck a utility pole. When officers arrived the vehicle was being moved into a parking space, and officers spoke with the owner who advised that the vehicle must not have been in the correct gear. There was minor damage to the driver side of the vehicle and no visible damage to the utility pole.

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Oak Street at 9:07 a.m. Wednesday for a suspicious person. The caller advised that there was a person knocking on their door. Officers spoke with a woman sitting in a vehicle in the caller’s driveway who advised that they were there to clean the caller’s residence. The caller advised that she did talk to the woman about her house getting cleaned and forgot they were coming today.
