Court News

LISBON — An evidentiary hearing is set for Oct. 30 in a case against Thomas Trevor, 72, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, who’s charged with multiple counts related to a 2023 accident which injured a woman and her three grandchildren.

A defense attorney for Trevor filed motions to dismiss and to suppress evidence in the case in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, requesting the suppression of all medical records and toxicology reports obtained through a search warrant issued on Pennsylvania and asking that the case be dismissed for failure to preserve one officer’s body camera footage.

Charges against Trevor include four counts each of third-degree felony aggravated vehicular assault and fourth-degree felony vehicular assault, along with two misdemeanor counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs or a combination of both.

The charges all stem from the Feb. 14, 2023 traffic crash that occurred on Fife Coal Road in Yellow Creek Township. According to a previous published report about the accident handled by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a Chevy Silverado driven by Trevor traveled left of center and struck a vehicle driven by Sally Lykens, Salineville, injuring Lykens and her three grandchildren who were passengers, ages 1, 3 and 5 years old at the time. Trevor was also injured.
