Grand Jury
LISBON — John Turney, 31, Warren, was served Tuesday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on Oct. 28, 2022.

LISBON — A Pennsylvania woman accused of trying to harm a deputy by striking the rear of his cruiser with her car entered guilty pleas recently in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.
Amberlina N. Gentsy, 30, Monaca, Pa., pleaded guilty to a lesser offense of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, along with third-degree felony failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and misdemeanor operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or combination of them.
Sentencing was set for Oct. 31.
She was originally charged with a felonious assault second-degree felony charge which noted the victim was a law enforcement officer.
The charges all stemmed from a pursuit on April 3, 2021 when Gentsy was driving a 2020 Nissan Versa and struck the rear of a deputy’s cruiser after the vehicle slowed in front of her at the intersection of state Routes 154 and 45 during the vehicle chase.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— Ryan Blystone, 45, Claiborne Street, pleaded guilty to a lesser offense of complicity to attempted felonious assault, a third-degree felony, and misdemeanor aggravated menacing. The first count was originally complicity in the commission of an offense, a second-degree felony. Sentencing was set for Sept. 26. Blystone was accused of causing a person to believe he would cause the person serious physical harm on July 15, 2023 and he also prevented others from breaking up an assault or aiding the victim.
— Brian Pearl, 55, East Clark Street, East Palestine, was sentenced to eight months in prison for possession of fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony, and attempted tampering with evidence, a fourth-degree felony. A charge of obstructing official business was dismissed. Pearl was accused of attempting to eat a paper fold which contained alleged fentanyl after it was removed from his pocket during a traffic stop and placed on the bed of his truck on Nov. 8, 2023 in East Palestine. He also was charged for possessing 1.42 grams of a fentanyl-related compound during the traffic stop.
— Kristin Grace, 41, North Jefferson Street, Lisbon, was placed on probation for four years after pleading guilty to a lesser-included charge of counterfeiting, a fourth-degree felony. She was originally charged with third-degree felony illegal use of supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits or WIC program benefits. The alleged illegal use occurred from Aug. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2022 and involved benefits valued at more than $7,500 or more, but less than $150,000. She also was ordered to pay restitution of $17,554 in monthly payments.
— Josiah Laughlin, 25, Campbell Road, Hanoverton, pleaded guilty to a lesser offense of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony, with sentencing set for Feb. 6. He was originally charged with a third-degree felony count. The trafficking involved methamphetamine on Jan. 12, 2024.
