EAST LIVERPOOL MUNICIPAL
EAST LIVERPOOL — In East Liverpool Municipal Court, Zackary Petty, 25, Ravine Street, admitted to violating his probation for an assault charge and was ordered to spend 14 days in jail, with credit for one day served. His fines were ordered sent for collection and his probation was dishonorably terminated. The assault charge stemmed from an incident June 27, 2021 at Woodland Hills when he pushed a woman in the back of the head during an argument.
Rebecca Albani, 30, Chester, W.Va., pleaded not guilty to theft, drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana charges, with the case transferred to the Columbiana County Municipal Court for a future hearing this fall. Albani allegedly tried to leave without paying for 26 items valued at $129 at the Walmart on Dresden Avenue on Sept. 5. During a search of her purse incident to arrest, police found baggies with residue and straws with white residue that she said was crack cocaine. Police also found suspected marijuana and a loaded .38-caliber Ruger handgun in her purse.
A status hearing was set Sept. 8 for Eric McQueen Jr., 30, Youngstown, charged with two counts of drug paraphernalia offenses, driving under suspension, tinted glass, possession of marijuana, a second driving under suspension and improper registration.
A pretrial was set Sept. 13 for Douglas Robinson, 46, Penn Ave., charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, no license, failure to control and possession of marijuana.
John Thompson, 56, Penn Avenue, had his status hearing continued and transferred to county municipal court to be scheduled this fall on charges of domestic violence, violating a protection order and criminal damaging related to three separate incidents. The most recent was June 17 for the alleged protection order violation when he reportedly pulled up next to a vehicle on the road that included a woman who had a protection order against him, made threats and at one point allegedly bumped into their vehicle and followed them until they crossed the bridge into West Virginia. On Dec. 26, 2021, he made threats against the woman, saying he would be waiting in her house with a knife and was going to kill and bury her. On Dec. 27, 2021, the woman found her tires flattened.
Merle Schreffler, 46, Lisbon Street, had his pretrial transferred to county municipal court for a hearing to be set this fall for domestic violence and driving under suspension. Schreffler allegedly grabbed his live-in girlfriend and began shoving her around the residence and into objects before forcing her out the door on Aug. 2, after she came home and found him with another female and confronted him.
Lucas McEldowney, 32, Penn Avenue, had his case transferred to county municipal court for a hearing to be set this fall for obstructing justice and resisting arrest. McEldowney allegedly refused to place his hands behind his back and had to be taken to the ground after police were called to Berdines bar on West Sixth Street on Sept. 3 for one to be removed.
A preliminary hearing will be scheduled in county Municipal Court for Todd Small, 36, Y & O Road, charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle while under the influence, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and assured clear distance ahead related to a three-vehicle crash handled by the Ohio State Highway Patrol on Sept. 4 at East Liverpool Road and state Route 170. Small allegedly had a loaded firearm in his vehicle.
Other cases transferred to the county municipal court for further hearings to be scheduled this fall included: James Craig III, 38, Buzzard Road, Wellsville, probation revocation for OVI and left of center charges from 2018; Michael Bruce, 26, Glenn Street, charged with OVI, driving under suspension and failure to control; Marquez Kimmie, 26, Cleveland, charged with possession of marijuana; and Shawn Delauder, 42, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, charged with no license and fictitious plates.
Kaylee Byars, 21, Shady Lane Drive, was fined $100 for driving under suspension and registration violation.
Hannah Higgins, 20, state Route 39, Salineville, was fined $70 for no license and marked lanes.
Nicholas Dobson, 32, Ceramic Street, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.
Cassandra Manley, 34, Township Line Road, Wellsville, was fined $75 for lights required, amended from driving under suspension.
Adam Squires, 31, Georgetown, Pa., was fined $30 for left of center.
Erin Erickson, 44, Chester, W.Va., was ordered to pay costs only for failure to control.
Failing to appear for hearings were Casey Yost, 23, Township Line Road, Wellsville, speeding, and Stephanie Graham, 31, New Middletown, speeding.
COLUMBIANA COUNTY MUNICIPAL
LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Joseph Degenova, 28, Harmony, Pa., was bound over to the Columbiana County Grand Jury on charges of misdemeanor engaging in prostitution, second-degree felony compelling prostitution, fourth-degree felony attempted and fifth-degree felony possession of criminal tools for allegedly making arrangements to meet an adult female and 15-year-old female for sexual activity in exchange for $180 on Aug. 26 in East Palestine.
A case against Richard Carl Spinelli, 59, Streetsboro, was bound over to the Columbiana County Grand Jury on charges of misdemeanor engaging in prostitution, third-degree felony compelling prostitution, fourth-degree felony attempted and fifth-degree felony possession of criminal tools for allegedly making arrangements to meet an adult female and 15-year-old female for sexual activity in exchange for $240 on Aug. 28 in East Palestine.
A case against Nicholas Knapik, 38, Hubbard, was bound over to the Columbiana County Grand Jury on charges of misdemeanor engaging in prostitution and drug paraphernalia, third-degree felony compelling prostitution, fourth-degree felony attempted and fifth-degree felony possession of criminal tools for allegedly making arrangements to meet an adult female and 15-year-old female for sexual activity in exchange for money on Aug. 27 in East Palestine. He also allegedly said he was bringing crack cocaine to party with and had the suspected crack cocaine and a crack cocaine pipe with him upon arrival.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Sept. 12 for Nicholas Jordan, 22, Niles, charged with a third-degree felony compelling prostitution, fifth-degree felonies of attempted, illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material or performance and possessing criminal tools, and a misdemeanor engaging in prostitution for allegedly making arrangements to meet an adult female and 15-year-old female for sexual activity in exchange for money on Sept. 3 in East Palestine and had marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia in his possession.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Sept. 15 for Glen Abel, 53, West Falls, N.Y., charged with a third-degree felony compelling prostitution, fourth-degree felony attempted, fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools and misdemeanor engaging in prostitution for allegedly making arrangements to meet an adult female and 15-year-old female for sexual activity in exchange for $240 on Sept. 2 in East Palestine.
A preliminary hearing was set Sept. 12 for Nicolas Stockford, 28, Lones Road, Lisbon, charged with two counts of burglary, a fourth-degree felony, for allegedly trespassing in a West Pershing Street residence on Aug. 30 in Salem and engaging in an altercation with the resident who held him down until police arrived.
A pretrial was set Nov. 17 for Cory Escamilla, 29, state Route 45, Salem, charged with obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly failing to answer police questions regarding a folded piece of paper and white powder on Sept. 3 in Salem.
A preliminary hearing was set Sept. 12 for Robert W. Farkas, 45, Hawley Avenue, Salem, for a fourth-degree felony burglary charge for allegedly entering a residence on East Third Street while the resident was asleep on the couch on July 28. He was a stranger and was seen walking down the stairs from the second floor and walking out the door when the resident awoke. Bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety and he was ordered to have no contact with the residence on East Third Street in Salem.
Matthew Mraz, 49, Edgewood Drive, Columbiana, was fined $650 for two counts each of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, and a stop sign violation.
Tammy Rivera, 44, Salem Warren Road, Salem, was fined $250 for theft, ordered to perform 20 hours community service and have no contact with Salem Walmart after failing to pay for $439 worth of merchandise by failing to scan the items and attempting to leave March 16.
A pretrial was set Nov. 14 for Savanna McKee, 26, Steubenville Pike Road, Lisbon, charged with criminal simulation for allegedly trying to pass a counterfeit $20 bill at Speedway in Salem on Aug. 16.
A pretrial was set Nov. 8 for Colleen Ritterspach, 52, Beverly Drive, Columbiana, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, OVI breath and improper/expired registration.
Brendan Rhodes, 21, Pine Lake Road, Beloit, was fined $1,025 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days at a driver intervention program for OVI, headlights and possession of marijuana. His license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
Joshua Tolson, 37, Quaker Lane, Salem, was fined $975 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days at a driver intervention program for physical control, amended from OVI, and failure to control. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
A pretrial was set Nov. 7 for Daniel McLaughlin, 35, East Clark Street, East Palestine, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath and speeding.
A pretrial was set Sept. 12 for Chloe Diane Marie Gerber, 20, Massillon, charged with OVI first offense, distracted driving, left of center and no seat belt.
A pretrial was set Sept. 12 for Henry Mills, 53, Grant Street, Salem, charged with criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a container used for storing dangerous drugs and several cut straws with residue during a traffic stop on Benton Road in Salem on Sept. 2, then damaging the window of a sheriff’s cruiser while en route to the jail on Sept. 3 after being placed under arrest.
A pretrial was set Nov. 8 for Danielle Vantilburg, 48, Eric Drive, Lisbon, charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing marijuana and a grinder with marijuana residue on Aug. 22 during a traffic stop in Fairfield Township.
Dominic Gibson, 26, Foundry Hill Road, Salineville, was fined $250 for littering for dumping household trash from the bed of a truck at an illegal dump on Foundry Hill Road, Salineville.
A third-degree felony charge of failure to comply was dismissed against Anthony Rodrigues, 42, Burgettstown, Pa.
Branden Kemp, 22, North Market Street, East Palestine, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct, amended from possession of marijuana, with a charge of drug paraphernalia dismissed.
Jennifer Smotrilla, 45, East Martin Street, East Palestine, was given no fine for driving under suspension after being found valid now.
