GRAND JURY

LISBON — Zealand David Foster Lewis, 21, North Howard Avenue, Salem, was served a secret indictment charging him with failure to verify address, a second-degree felony. Lewis allegedly failed to register his address on Nov. 23, when he has an attempted rape conviction in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court from August 2017, which requires him to register. The indictment was issued by the grand jury in January.

COURT NEWS

LISBON — Shane J. Linden, 42, Crestview Road, Leetonia, was found guilty of having weapons while under a disability, a third-degree felony, by a Common Pleas Court jury during a brief trial Tuesday. Linden was sentenced to 30 months in prison. On Jan. 12, 2021, Linden had a firearm when he has a prior conviction of possession of drugs from 2006.

Homer C. Carnes Jr., 42, state Route 154, Lisbon, was sentenced to a year in prison for failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, and obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony. On Dec. 6, 2020, Carnes fled police to prevent them from performing their official duties. Carnes was credited with 331 days already served.

Steven W. Watters II, 43, Elk Avenue, Lisbon, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and requested immediate sentencing. Watters was sentenced to a year in prison concurrent with time he is serving in two other cases. On July 30, 2021, Watters had a 1983 Harley Davidson XLH-1100 belonging to Jay Kurey B.

COUNTY MUNICIPAL

LISBON – A Feb. 17 preliminary hearing was set in county Municipal Court for Zealand D.F. Lewis, 21, North Howard Avenue, Salem, charged with failure to verify residence address, a second-degree felony, for allegedly failing to verify his address by Dec. 21.

A March 29 pretrial was set for Bradley James McRobie Jr., 38, Carrollton, charged with OVI second offense and left of center.

A March 28 pretrial was set for Joseph Earl Myers, 50, Youngstown, cited with OVI second offense, engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools. On Dec. 20, Myers allegedly attempted to hire an undercover agent from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force for sexual acts in exchange for $60 and when he arrived in East Palestine allegedly to meet the person he believed was a prostitute on Dec. 31, Myers was determined by police to be intoxicated.

Guy Wells, 39, Church Hill Road, Lisbon, was fined $925, had his license suspended for a year, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 20 hours community service for OVI first offense and left of center.

An April 12 pretrial was set for Ryan A. Kosek, 42, Grant Street, New Springfield, cited with OVI first offense, child restrain violation, improper registration, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering children. Kosek allegedly had a meth pipe and straw, as well as two children ages 6 and 8 in the backseat while allegedly intoxicated on Thursday.

A March 31 pretrial was set for Terry William Call, 46, College Street, East Liverpool, cited with OVI first offense, no license and speeding.

An April 12 motions hearing was set for David L. Gillespie, 39, Wayne Bridge Road, Lisbon, cited with OVI first offense, OVI urine results for methamphetamines, left of center and a tail lights violation.

Daniel R. Begue, 54, Canton, was fined $750, ordered to attend a 12-hour prostitution education course and required 20 hours community service for engaging in prostitution and criminal tools for attempting to hire an undercover agent with the MVHTTF for sex for $100 on Feb. 2 in Salem.

Mark Seese, 57, Navarre, was fined $750, ordered to attend a 12-hour prostitution education course and required 20 hours community service for engaging in prostitution and criminal tools for attempting to hire an undercover agent with the MVHTTF for sex for $100 on Feb. 2 in Salem.

David P. Nelson, 30, Warren, was fined $850, ordered to attend a 12-hour prostitution education course and required 20 hours community service for possession of marijuana, engaging in prostitution and criminal tools for attempting to hire an undercover agent with the MVHTTF for sex for $125 on Jan. 28 in Salem.

An April 12 pretrial was set for Terry Allen Libengood, 59, Washington, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual acts with a prostitute in exchange for $100 and traveling to East Palestine where he was met by an agent with the MVHTTF on Dec. 31.

Brandon W. Brink, 29, Liberty Avenue, Salem, was sentenced to four days in jail, required 30 hours community service and fined $250 for domestic violence for striking his girlfriend multiple times and choking her on Nov. 4. An endangering children charge was dismissed for the assault of his girlfriend, in front of two small children, one which was right next to her mother and had a bruise on her forehead.

A March 31 pretrial was set for Devin Shane Scranton, 30, East Main Street, East Palestine, cited with failure to stop after an accident and failure to control for an alleged crash in East Palestine on Dec. 11.

Brook Rae Hughes, 23, Sebring, was fined $100 for speeding, while a driving under suspension citation was dismissed due to a BMV error.

Amanda Davidson, 19, Bandy Road, Homeworth, was fined $50 for assured clear distance.

EAST LIVERPOOL MUNICIPAL

EAST LIVERPOOL — A Feb. 17 pretrial was set in East Liverpool Municipal Court for Justin Cornell, 24, Columbia Avenue, charged with domestic violence for allegedly choking his stepfather on Jan. 23 and cited with two counts of improper display of registration.

An April 22 pretrial was set for George J. Stoffel Jr., 60, Chester, W.Va., cited with no license and expired tag.

A March 1 pretrial was set for Janet L. Gibson, 76, East Liverpool Road, Lisbon, cited with wrongful entrustment.

Anthony L. Anderson, 30, Penn Avenue, was fined $100 for no license.

A March 1 pretrial was set for Joshua S. Gallimore, 34, Liverpool Road, Lisbon, cited with no license.

John D. Miscuk III, 26, Martin Street, was sentenced to a day in jail and fined $100 for theft for three 25-ounce cans of Natural Light “Natty Daddy” placed inside his jacket at Giant Eagle on Bradshaw Avenue.

A March 17 pretrial was set for Susan D. Cooper, 61, Seventh Avenue, charged with theft for allegedly shoplifting 26 items totaling $165 by failing to scan them at Walmart in Calcutta on Dec. 9.

Leeza Edge, 28, North Shadylane, was fined $50 for driving under FRA suspension.

The following failed to appear: Dustin Birkhimer, 30, Etrusia Street, expired plates, and Dakota M. McGrew, 28, Toronto, speeding.
