Columbiana County Municipal

In Columbiana County Municipal Court, An April 4 preliminary hearing was set for John D. Gbur, 48, last known address Park Avenue, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly throwing hot candle wax into the face of Casey Rohaley, his ex-girlfriend, with whom he reportedly has a child.

Stacie L. Saracco, 25, Broadway, Wellsville, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury on a charge of illegal conveyance of any drug of abuse. Saracco is accused of smuggling six grams of heroin into the county jail in her vaginal area on March 12, using a half a gram per day and then swallowing the last two and a half grams of heroin on March 18 to avoid detection when jail staff were searching the cells. The swallowing of the heroin reportedly resulted in her overdosing requiring medical assistance.

Josef B. Zeidrich, 35, Rose Street, Minerva, was fined $930, had his license suspended for a year, sentenced to 10 days in jail and required 30 hours community service for OVI second offense, seat belt violation and parking on the highway.

Jodi Dawn Johnson, 48, Sixth Street, Wellsville, was fined $925, had her license suspended for 180 days, sentenced to three days in jail and required 30 hours community service for OVI first offense and driving under suspension.

Robert E. Reynolds, 48, South Lundy Avenue, Salem, was fined $675, had his license suspended for 180 days, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 30 hours community service for OVI first offense.

Gina M. Vizzo, 34, Allen Avenue, Minerva, was fined $700, had her license suspended for 180 days, required three days in counseling and ordered 30 hours community service for OVI first offense and marked lanes.

Christy Hager, 35, state Route 45, Lisbon, was fined $700, had her license suspended for 180 days, ordered to attend a three-day counseling program and required 30 hours community service for OVI first offense and a tail lights violation. A lane violation citation was dismissed.

Melissa R. Reynolds-Anderson, 40, state Route 45, Lisbon, was fined $430 and required 20 hours community service for two counts of driving under suspension and one count each of a seat belt violation and failure to yield the right of way.

Nick A. Salisberry, 26, West Ninth Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and 50 hours of community service for driving under suspension.

Daniel J. Cunningham, 27, College Street, Alliance, was fined $250 and required 30 hours community service for speeding in a school zone.

Kristopher G. Wischerman, 44, Ellis Street, East Palestine, was fined $300, had his license suspended for four months, sentenced to three days in jail and required 30 hours community service for OVI first offense and headlights required.

Lane M. Sfakis, 24, East Chestnut Street, Lisbon, was fined $280 for driving under suspension and failure to display a valid sticker.

Sean D. Gaul, 24, Girard, was fined $280 for failure to produce a license and speeding.

Jeremy McElroy, 43, Orangeburg, S.C., was fined $250 for failure to reinstate a license.

Dustin M. Randolph, 28, Dresden Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $250.

Michael J. Fowler, 37, South Vine Street, Columbiana, was fined $250 and required 30 hours community service for driving under suspension.

Heather L. Richardson, 28, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was fined $200, credited with two days served and required 30 hours community service for assault for spitting in the face of Tracie Blakeley on Feb. 13.

Anthony K. Carmelo, 36, Randel Road, Hanoverton, was fined $150 for an equipment violation amended from speeding.

Edward C. Adams, 55, New Garden Avenue, Salem, was fined $150 for reckless operation amended from hit skip. A failure to control citation was dismissed. A restitution hearing was set for June 7. Adams was exiting Taco Bell in Salem when he went over the curb on the other side of the street, ran over a tree and through the fence at Hunt Valve before fleeing the scene.

Charles R. Morjock, 51, Poland, was fined $150 lighted lights required amended from speeding.

An April 4 pretrial was set for Nicholas P. Crookston, 28, Elberon Avenue, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly assaulting his estranged wife, Bobby Crookston, in a vehicle at the Suburban Market in Salem on Feb. 25.

Columbiana County Municipal

An April 4 preliminary hearing was set for William Vandyke II, 51, state Route 45, Wellsville, charged with domestic violence for allegedly grabbing Shelda Keefer by the shirt while she was asleep, putting his fingers in her eyes and later grabbing her by the neck on March 3. A pretrial was also scheduled for Vandyke for that date, citing with no license and criminal trespassing for being on the property of Red Bud Mining on May 18, where Keefer had fallen from the vehicle while they were riding the trails and was left behind.

James A. Hoover, 39, Bonnieview Avenue, Alliance, was fined $550, ordered to pay $500 in restitution to Patrick Bennett and $279 to Tracy Bennett, credited with one day served in jail and sentenced to 39 days in jail for assault, aggravated trespassing and criminal damaging. On Nov. 17, Hoover pushed Tracy Bennett to the ground. While she was trying to pick her clothes up off the ground where they were dumped, Hoover got into her face and called her names. Hoover went to the property of Tracy and Patrick Bennett with a friend, Ben Metts, in an attempt to fight Patrick and his son Steffen Murphy. To provoke a fight, Hoover began grabbing multiple pieces of lawn furniture, a pot, a broom and beer cans, throwing them against the house and yelling threats. He also threw a tire onto the windshield of Patrick Bennett’s vehicle, smashing the glass. Leaving in a hurry when he heard patrol vehicle sirens, Bennett got into this truck and side swiped Murphy’s vehicle.

Angela C. Willmarth, 31, McCann Road, Kensington, pleaded no contest to domestic violence for striking her father, Dennis C. Willmarth, in the chest three times and then biting him on the wrist while he was restraining her to keep her from hitting him on Monday. A sentencing hearing was set for March 31.

A May 9 pretrial was set for Brad E. Kasunich, 32, Union Street, Columbiana, cited with confinement/restraint of a dog after three dogs allegedly escaped their enclosure on March 3 and at least one person, a 14-year-old, was bitten.

A May 10 pretrial was set for Marc Sheely, 26, South Union Avenue, Salem, cited with two counts of prohibitions concerning companion animals. Sheely allegedly was needlessly cruel in his treatment of the male, black and tan German shepherd puppy between Jan. 3 and March 3, including punching it and it was found to be in emaciated condition on March 3.

A May 10 pretrial, Randy S. Delp Jr., 33, Columbia Street, Salem, charged with disorderly conduct while voluntarily intoxicated, after allegedly falling asleep at the Powerhouse Cafe on South Broadway, Salem, and being unable to regain sobriety enough to safely leave.

A May 10 pretrial was set for Kasen J. Smith, 20, East 11th Street, Salem, cited with possession of marijuana and possession of instruments to ingest/inhale controlled substances.

A May 17 pretrial was set for Justin P. Shaw, 35, North Canton, cited with driving under suspension.

A May 19 pretrial was set for Wayne D. Fryer, 57, Chester, W.Va., cited with OVI first offense, driving under suspension, speeding, possession of marijuana and possession of instruments to ingest/inhale controlled substance for allegedly having two metal pipes with burnt residue.

Laurence W. Houmard II, 50, Canton, was sentenced to three days in jail and fined $275 for driving under suspension and speeding.

Craig A. Eckman, 30, South Union Avenue, Salem, was fined $100 for an equipment violation amended from speeding.

Josef B. Zeidrich, 35, Rose Street, Minerva, was fined $100 for open container.

Daryl A. Burkey, 25, state Route 45, Wellsville, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension and a sentencing hearing was set for May 31.

Columbiana County Municipal

In Columbiana County Municipal Court Jodi Dawn Johnson, 48, Sixth Street, Wellsville, was fined $625, sentenced three days jail, placed on two years probation and required 30 hours community service for OVI refusal and driving under suspension.

Charles M. Kolak, 62, Weirton, W.Va., was fined $75 for speeding.

Joseph Springer, 23, Canfield, was fined $200 for possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Jeremy R. Fristik, 29, Park Avenue, East Palestine, was fined $250, given credit for six days served and was placed on two years probation for persistent disorderly conduct.

Richard C. Fristik, 48, Park Avenue, East Palestine, was fined $250, given credit for eight days served and was placed on two years probation for domestic violence.

Mary Jean Hackett Ludwig, 63, state Route 39, Salineville, was fined $75 for speeding.

Kyla Laura Elizabeth Lawrence, 27, Cusick Road, Lisbon, was fined $30 for stopped school bus.

A May 3 pretrial was set for Matthew J. Singelis, 30, Warren, charged with marked lanes.

A March 31 pretrial was set for Richard Aaron Sell, 57, Maple Street, Rogers, charged with public indecency for allegedly engaging in a solo sexual act outside while intoxicated on his property.

A May 2 pretrial was set for Allan W. Murphy III, 23, Creek Road, New Waterford, charged with driving under suspension and possession of drugs.

Columbiana County Municipal

Richard W. Brown, 46, Sprucevale Road, Rogers, was fined $925, had his license suspended for 180 days, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 40 hours community service for OVI first offense, open container, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A left of center citation was dismissed.

Paula A. Grimm, 35, Benton Road, Salem, was fined $200, credited with two days served in jail and sentenced to two additional days for possession of drug paraphernalia for a crack pipe in her hoodie on Monday.

Cornelius O. Beckwith II, 34, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, was fined $200, required 10 hours community service and had his license suspended for 180 days for marijuana possession and driving under suspension.

Juan Z. Gutierrez, 23, Columbia Street, Salem, was fined $200 for reckless operation and two counts of no license.

Joshua J. Coil, 30, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, was fined $200 and had his license suspended for 180 days for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia for a glass smoking pipe with residue.

Kelly A. McElwain, 41, North Yuma Trail, Negley, was fined $100 and had her license suspended for 180 days for hit skip and failure to control.

Isaac Lee LeMasters, 46, Salineville Road West, Salineville, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.

An April 25 pretrial was set for Raymond L. Hammond, 30, Youngstown, cited with OVI first offense, speeding and two counts of possession of drugs for allegedly having a marijuana cigarette and 10 tramdol pills in the trunk of his vehicle on March 17.

An April 25 pretrial was set for Candace A. Norris, 21, Water Street, Salineville, charged with theft for allegedly taking Starbucks drinks from the Dollar General in Salineville valued at nearly $6 on Feb. 27.

An April 28 pretrial was set for Donald L. Bates II, 41, Alliance Sebring Road, Alliance, cited with OVI first offense, speeding and possession of marijuana.

An April 7 pretrial was set for Julian Bernard Bowens, 22, Youngstown, cited with driving under suspension.

A March 31 preliminary hearing was set in Columbiana County Municipal Court for Stephen Philippi, 43, Canton, charged with scrap metal and merchandise container dealers violation after Columbiana police reportedly found approximately 400 to 500 pounds of burnt wire and cable wire in the rear seating and trunk areas of a vehicle during a traffic stop on Tuesday. Philippi reportedly told police he was on his way to Pennsylvania to scrap the wire. The charge is a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial was also scheduled on March 31 for Philippi cited with possession of marijuana and another pretrial on April 28 for a citation of failure to display a valid sticker.

March 31 preliminary hearings were set for Ryan K. Stanley, 29, and Mary B. Shuman, 33, both with a last known address Ohio Avenue, Salem, charged with receiving stolen property for allegedly taking two checks from Stanley’s mother’s home, writing them and trying to cash them.

A March 31 preliminary hearing was set for Alpino B. Raneri Jr., 36, West Wilson Street, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly threatening to kill Chrystal L. Westover on Wednesday, grabbing her phone and smashing it, grabbing her arms and putting his hands around her neck, as well as smashing a glass coffee table.

An April 4 pretrial was set for Rachel J. George, 37, U.S. Route 62, Salem, cited with possession of a drug abuse instrument and possession of drug paraphernalia for items such as a metal crack pipe and a syringe found along with her unconscious body in the restroom of the Dunkin Donuts, West State Street, Salem, the afternoon of March 19.

An April 4 pretrial was set for James M. Horne, 31, New Castle, Pa. cited with obstructing justice for allegedly running from the back door of the residence at 1017 Anderson Avenue, Wellsville, after members of the Columbiana County Drug Task Force ordered him to stop and go to the floor. Horne reportedly ran out the back door, but was stopped by K-9 officer Jesy.

A June 2 pretrial was set for Marvin L. Gidney II, 29, Youngstown, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly running from Perry Township police and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, leaving the apartment at 1129 W. Perry St., Salem, on Tuesday through a back window.

Robin L. McClain, 42, Pine Hollow Road, Rogers, was fined $250 and sentenced to three days in jail for prohibitions concerning companion animals. McClain allowed her black labrador to live in August with an embedded collar resulting in several wounds from prongs on the collar.

Jeffrey A. Drummond II, 25, West Perry Street, Salem, was fined $200, required 50 hours community service and credited with six days served for obstrucing official business for giving deputies a false name and birth date on March 10, when they were at a McCracken Road, Salem, address about suspicious people on the property.

Shawn M. Cunningham, 28, East Eighth Street, East Liverpool, was credited with 16 days served in jail, sentenced to an additional four days in jail and fined $400 for complicity to theft and obstructing justice for being one of three people shoplifting in a group at the Salem Walmart on Nov. 10 and refusing to stop when he was ordered to do so.

Robert K. Vien, 53, Bayard Road, Homeworth, was fined $250 for hit skip/leave scene and failure to control.

Karen S. Knoedler, 44, Lakeview Drive, Lisbon, was fined $200 for sale of tobacco products to person under 21 for selling to a 16-year-old on March 7 at Pidge’s Place Market, state Route 172, Lisbon.

Nicholas R. Mohr, 33, Howard Street, Columbiana, was fined $350 for failure to reinstate a license and no license amended from driving under suspension.

Bobbi J. Fisher, 37, Hill Street, Lisbon, was fined $300 for driving under suspension and speeding.

Daniel L. Householder, 38, North Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, was fined $200 and had his license suspended for 180 days for marijuana paraphernalia and marijuana possession.

Dustin D. Mooney, 29, Depot Road, Salem, was fined $200 and had his license suspended for 180 days for marijuana paraphernalia and marijuana possession.

Justen P. Ove, 35,Canton, was fined $200, required 30 hours community service and credited with five days served for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Austin Francis Bolen, 21, Boardman Street, New Waterford, was fined $100 and required 25 hours community service for driving under suspension.

Ryan James Taylor, 33, Arch Street, Salem, was fined $100 and required 10 hours community service for driving under suspension.

Steven S. Davis, 25, Lisbon Street, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for an equipment violation amended from speeding.

A May 9 pretrial was set for Larry W. Harris, 41, state Route 172, Lisbon, cited with driving under suspension and failure to control.

Columbiana County Municipal

Larry A. Macklin Jr, 35, Waddell Street, Leetonia, was fined $730, sentenced to three days in jail, had his license suspended for six months and required 40 hours community service for OVI first offense and failure to control.

Alfred Black Jr., 31, West Third Street, Salem, was fined $500, required 80 hours community service and credited with four days served for two counts of driving under suspension.

Kenneth D. Stoffer, 31, Youngstown, was fined $350, had his licenses suspended for 180 days and required 30 hours community service for driving under suspension and possession of marijuana.

Tristan J. Taylor, 23, Madison Avenue, Salineville, was fined $200, required 50 hours community service, credited with a day in jail and sentenced to nine additional days for obstructing official business for telling police he was Sheridan Seth Taylor on Dec. 31.

Erik T. Reed, 27, Springview Road, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for speeding.

John Faulkner Jr., 57, Pancake-Clarkson Road, Rogers, was fined $1,175, had his license suspended for a year and was sentenced to 180 days in jail for OVI second offense, driving under suspension and failure to control.

Christopher Brian White Jr., 35, Greentown, was fined $780, had his license suspended for a year, sentenced to 12 days in jail and required 60 hours community service for OVI second offense and assured clear distance.

Justin L. Fredo, 31, West South Range Road, Salem, was fined $700, had his license suspended for 180 days, sentenced to five days in jail and required 40 hours community service for OVI first offense and failure to control.

Jeffrey D. Banister, 63, state Route 45, Lisbon, pleaded no contest to domestic violence for pushing his wife Karen down, then stomping on her head and feet on Monday. A sentencing hearing was set for March 28.

Ricky A. Wilson, 47, Adams Road, Rogers, was fined $430, credited with a day served in jail and required 10 hours community service for driving under FRA suspension, use of unauthorized plate and traffic control devices.

Jordan B. Phillips, 20, Second Street, Hanoverton, was credited with 22 days served, sentenced to eight additional days in jail, required 10 hours community service and fined $200 for aggravated menacing for driving a vehicle toward a teen, who was in the grassy area on the other side of Campbell Road in Hanover Township.

Joseph C. Dominic, 28, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $200 and had his license suspended for six months for drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs for marijuana and rolling papers.

Hunter L. Joy, 22, Enon Valley, Pa., was fined $200, credited with a day served in jail and required 30 hours community service for criminal trespassing for being on the Rollerena property in Unity without permission.

Marce Lee Mayle, 34, Bye Road, East Palestine, was fined $200 for failure to obtain permission to hunt and a miscellaneous wildlife violation for not checking a deer.

William A. Javens, 53, Hazel Run Road, Hammondsville, was fined $130 and required 25 hours community service for failure to reinstate a license and speeding.

Bobby Craig, 41, Beaver Falls, Pa., was fined $100 and required 25 hours community service for driving under suspension.

David Dickey, 44, Park Avenue, East Palestine, was fined $100 and required 10 hours community service for driving under suspension.

An April 26 pretrial was set for Tera Guy, 25, Boardman, cited with driving under FRA suspension and lane violations.

An April 28 pretrial was set for Kevin H. Orwick, 45, South Main Street, Columbiana, cited with OVI first offense and traffic control devices.

A May 2 pretrial was set for Toni A. Donnelly, 45, Winona Road, Salem, cited with driving under FRA suspension.

An improper registration citation against Anastasia A. Robyn Sfakis, 33, Pass Lane, Lisbon, was dismissed.

Kimberly S. Clemens, 51, U.S. Route 30, Kensington, was found guilty of domestic violence by a Columbiana County Municipal Court jury on Wednesday. Clemens was sentenced to 180 days in jail and fined $200. On Sept. 4, 2014, Clemens went to John and Helen’s Bar in Kensington, speaking to her husband, Ronnie Clemens, and demanding he give her money for her prescription. When he refused, she became violent, hitting him and scratching him on the face.

Columbiana County Municipal

In Columbiana County Municipal Court Michael A. Hamilton, 27, East Fourth Street, Salem, had his preliminary hearing reset for April 25 and an evaluation for competency was ordered. Bond remains set at $50,000 cash or surety. Hamilton is charged with theft for allegedly taking a Taurus .45 caliber pistol on March 13.

A March 24 preliminary hearing was set at the same time for Rhea G. Lane III, 62, Laughlin Mill, Lisbon, charged with aggravated menacing for allegedly pulling up the right side of his shirt as if to pull a weapon and telling the deputy watching him stumbling along the edge of state Route 172 to “move on.” A sentencing hearing also was set for Lane, who pleaded no contest to theft for taking a poster from the Guilford Lake Grill without permission on Saturday. The poster was reportedly found sticking out of Lane’s waistband.

A sentencing hearing was set for March 24 for Justen P. Ove, 35, Canton, cited with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for borrowing his aunt’s vehicle to go to work on Dec. 31 and not returning it. Ove pleaded no contest on Monday.

A March 24 sentencing hearing was set for Jeffrey A. Drummond II, 25, West Perry Street, Salem, who pleaded no contest to obstructing official business for giving deputies a false name and date of birth on March 10.

A March 28 pretrial was set for Casey R. Carter, 24, 10th Street, Wellsville, charged with disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia. Carter allegedly was cursing and screaming at her mother and had hypodermic needles and a burnt spoon in her purse when police came to her home on 10th Street, Wellsville, to search for drugs.

A March 28 pretrial was set for Ashley M. Vanderhoff, 26, last known address Maple Street, Salem, cited with possession of drug abuse instrument for insulin type syringes and needles allegedly found in her purse during a traffic stop.

A March 28 pretrial was set for Larry R. Blakeley, 45, Rose Drive, Lisbon, charged with theft for allegedly shoplifting nearly $22 in merchandise from the Dollar General in the plaza on East State Street, Salem, on Friday.

An April 25 pretrial was set for Brett J. Young, 29, West North Avenue, East Palestine, charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for allegedly taking his parent’s truck without permission on Sunday.

An April 25 pretrial was set for Heather L. Richardson, 27, Rose Drive, Lisbon, charged with theft for allegedly shoplifting $21 in merchandise from the Dollar General in the East State Street, Salem, plaza on Friday.

An April 26 pretrial was set for Cody L. Jones, 26, Mill Street, Salineville, cited with a non-compliance suspension.

An April 26 pretrial was set for Tanya E. Powell, 26, Garner Avenue, East Liverpool, cited with possession of drug abuse instrument for allegedly having seven hypodermic syringes, a burnt spoon and two tear offs in her possession when police were sent to a Main Street, Wellsville, home for an overdose on Jan. 9.

An April 26 pretrial was set for Rhonda L. Jones, 60, Mill Street, Salineville, cited with wrongful entrustment.

A May 2 pretrial was set for Domingo D. Diego, 24, Columbia Street, Salem, charged with disorderly conduct after he was allegedly found highly intoxicated at an East Fourth Street location and became aggressive toward police on March 12.

A May 3 pretrial was set for Lawrence Howard Bradt, 42, South Lincoln Avenue, Alliance, charged with OVI second offense, improper registration, failure to control, temporary permit helmet required and temporary permit violation – daytime.

John A. Zamora, 60, East Third Street, Salem, was fined $750, sentenced to three days in jail, had his license suspended for a year and required 40 hours community service for OVI first offense.

Columbiana County Municipal

Chasta D. Cromer, 21, Independence Square, Wellsville, was fined $250 and required 10 hours community service for driving without a valid license.

Taran L. Mink, 25, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and required 10 hours of community service for driving without a valid license.

Alan M. Felger, 57, Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, was fined $250 for hit skip/leave scene and failure to yield the right of way following an accident in Salem on Jan. 20.

Gregory Weingart, 20, North Market Street, East Palestine, was fined $240 and had his license suspended for 180 days for possession of drug paraphernalia, no license, failure to display a valid sticker and speeding.

Jordan R. Johnson, 25, Jones Drive, Salem, was fined $230, credited with a day served in jail and ordered 50 hours community service for driving under suspension and speeding.

Nicholas J. Cyphert, 23, South Union Avenue, Salem, was fined $250 and ordered 30 hours community service for driving under suspension. A failure to display a valid sticker citation was dismissed.

Steven Michael Brown, 55, Smith Road, Salineville, was fined $230 for failing to stop for a stopped school bus and improper registration.

Clifton L. Jezek Jr., 30, Lincoln Street, Salineville, was fined $250 for driving under suspension.

Jenna R. Barborak, 22, Bandy Road, Homeworth, was fined $150, required 30 hours community service and credited with a day in jail for obstructing official business for lying to Perry Township patrolman Anthony Konders about whether Jordan Johnson was at the Jones Drive, Salem, home on March 9.

Sterling Hughey, 27, Steubenville, was fined $30 for improper registration. A driving under suspension citation was dismissed.

A March 28 pretrial was set for Tracy L. Mattern, 45, Bye Road, East Palestine, charged with assault and disorderly conduct while voluntarily intoxicated. Mattern is accused of striking Raymond Leonard in the ear and back of the head at the New Waterford Eagles Club on Thursday.

An April 19 pretrial was set for Scott D. Wallen, 56, Mill Street, Salineville, charged with domestic violence for allegedly striking Cody Jones in the head with a plate on March 11.

Gary S. Sisley, pleaded no contest to hit skip/leave scene and assured clear distance for striking the mirror while trying to avoid a stopped vehicle in front of him in front of Kent State University in Salem on March 9. Sentencing is set for April 7.

Derrick G. Black, 54, Youngstown, pleaded no contest to driving under suspension and speeding. A sentencing hearing was set for April 28.

Columbiana County Municipal

A March 24 preliminary hearing was set in Columbiana County Municipal Court for Richard C. Fristik, 48, Park Avenue, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence for allegedly fighting with his son on Wednesday evening when he already has two previous domestic violence convictions in Columbiana County Municipal Court, as well as a previous felony domestic violence conviction in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court in 2005.

A March 24 pretrial was set for his son, Jeremy R. Fristick, 28, Park Avenue, East Palestine, also charged with domestic violence for brawling with his father. They were reportedly found by police on the floor punching and pulling hair on Wednesday.

March 24 sentencing hearings were scheduled for two women reportedly found to be selling tobacco to minors. Deborah L. Randolph, 33, North Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, pleaded guilty to illegal distribution of a tobacco product for selling Marlboro Red Cigarettes to a 16-year-old while working at Down on Main in Leetonia on March 7. Karen S. Knoedler, 44, Lakeview Drive, Lisbon, also pleaded guilty to illegal distribution of a tobacco product for selling Marlboro Red Cigarettes to a 16-year-old while working at Pidge’s Place Market, state Route 172, Lisbon.

David W. Chappell, 56, state Route 45, Lisbon, was fined $1,100, sentenced to five days in jail, had his license suspended for a year and required 50 hours community service for OVI first offense, hit skip and improper backing.

Cody A. Dehoff, 26, Bristol Lane, Columbiana, was fined $375, had his license suspended for six months, required 30 hours community service and sentenced to a day in jail for lane violations, open container and failure to comply for trying to flee from police during a traffic stop on Aug. 21.

Jonathan D. Barney, 31, Weirton, W.Va., was fined $280 for driving without a valid license and a seat belt violation.

Aaron Shrum, 38, Beaver Falls, Pa., was fined $250, credited with 15 days served and ordered to appear for a restitution hearing on May 26 for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for taking a 2003 Dodge Caravan belonging to Amanda Bender after she had denied his request to borrow it.

Jordan R. Johnson, 25, Jones Drive, Salem, was fined $150, credited with a day in jail and required 50 hours community service for obstructing official business for hiding in a back bedroom to avoid apprehension when he knew he had a warrant on March 9.

Heather L. Fisher, 38, Seventh Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and required 15 hours community service for driving under suspension.

Anthony M. Bell, 19, Canton, was fined $300, required 30 hours community service and sentenced to two days in jail for underage consumption.

Columbiana County Municipal

In Columbiana County Municipal Court Brett M. Ahearn, 19, Fairview Avenue, Salem, was fined $1,425, had his license suspended for 180 days, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 60 hours community service for OVI first offense, driving under suspension, underage consumption, possession of drugs, possession of instruments to ingest/inhale controlled substances.

A March 21 arraignment was set for Domingo D. Diego, 24, Columbia Street, Salem, charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly being highly intoxicated, causing a disturbance and becoming aggressive toward Salem police officers on Saturday.

Heath A. Broadbent, 31, Cherry Fork Road, Leetonia, was fined $825, had his license suspended for six months and required to attend a three-day counseling program for OVI first offense, traffic control devices and driving under suspension.

Brenda S. McKinney, 51, Hess Road, East Liverpool, was fined $725, had her license suspended for six months, ordered to attend a three-day counseling program and required 30 hours community service for OVI first offense and failure to control.

James W. Tanley, 55, Wilson Drive, Chester, W.Va., was fined $775, required to attend a three-day counseling program, had his license suspended for 90 days and required 30 hours community service for open container and reckless operation amended from OVI first offense. A parking on the highway charge was dismissed.

Jason Roberts, 44, Lisbon-Canfield Road, Salem, was fined $550 for reasonable control, failure to wear a helmet and reckless operation second offense amended from OVI first offense.

Adrienne Parish, 32, South Middle Street, Columbiana, was fined $250 and sentenced to two days in jail for theft for taking label off a pack of pork spareribs costing $3.30 and placing it on a package of chicken valued at between $9 and $12 at Save-A-Lot in October.

Rory Altenburg, 42, Youngstown, was fined $280 and required 30 hours community service for driving under suspension and a turn signal violation.

Brian Burns, 24, East Adams Street, East Palestine, was fined $250 and required 30 hours community service for driving under suspension.

Jeffrey L. Reynolds, 49, Columbia Street, Leetonia, was fined $250, required 30 hours community service, credited with two days served in jail and sentenced to an additional three days in jail for criminal trespassing for arguing with police, putting his hands in their face and refusing to leave a Lisbon area bar on Jan. 23.

Jonathan R. Dear, 32, Birch Rod, East Liverpool, was fined $250 for miscellaneous wildlife violation and special deer or wild turkey permit required.

Tren M. Clay, 24, McDonald, was fined $200 for driving under FRA suspension and speeding.

Venise G. Hileman, 49, Farr Street, Rogers, was fined $150, required 30 hours community service, credited with a day served in jail and sentenced to two additional days for theft for taking a tablet from Paula Smith’s home without permission.

Jesse Lee Toot, 24, East Clark Street, East Palestine, was fined $150, required 30 hours community service and credited with two days served in jail for disorderly conduct for screaming and yelling at his father’s residence. A domestic violence charge for allegedly picking up a baseball bat and looking like he was about to strike his father as police were approaching was dismissed.

Justin M. Martin, 33, West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was fined $150 for reckless operation amended from OVI first offense.

David A. Bennett II, 43, Ruby Road Northwest, Minerva, was fined $150 for an equipment violation amended from speeding.

A March 21 preliminary hearing was set in Columbiana County Municipal Court for Michael A. Hamilton, 27, East Fourth Street, Salem, charged with theft for allegedly taking a Taurus .45 caliber pistol from another Salem home on Sunday. Hamilton’s bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.

Trent M. Clay, 24, Girard, was fined $200 and had his license suspended for six months for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia for a glass smoking pipe.

Ricky A. Reynolds, 25, Somer Street, Leetonia, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence for grabbing and scratching her husband Shawn Reynolds on the face on Jan. 30.

Shareef M. El Bey, 51, Garfield Heights, was fined $125 for speeding.

Jeffrey R. Dalrymple, 27, 15th Street, Wellsville, was fined $100 for a miscellaneous wildlife violation for failing to properly check a deer.

A domestic violence charge against Frankie L. Tompkins Jr., 42, Pass Lane, Lisbon, was dismissed without prejudice. Tompkins had been accused of harming a woman in a sexual manner.

In Columbiana County Municipal Court Justin D. Pitts, 29, Railroad Street, Hanoverton, was bound over the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury on charges of possession of criminal tools and burglary. Pitts is accused of breaking into a Hull Road, Lisbon, home on March 3 utilizing a hammer, which was reportedly broken as Pitts was prying open a door to the garage.

In Columbiana County Municipal Court, Allison F. Grossen, 29, Railroad Street, Hanoverton, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury on a burglary charge. Grossen allegedly admitted to dropping co-defendant Justin Pitts at a home on Hull Road, Lisbon, so he could break into the residence and then went back to pick him up on March 3.

Keith S. Kreger, 60, Fredericktown Clarkson Road, Negley, was bound over to the grand jury on charges of aggravated menacing, weapons while intoxicated, felonious assault and obstruction of official business for allegedly threatening to shoot deputies from his garage on Jan. 24 and refusing to drop his weapon.

A March 17 preliminary hearing was set for Francis J. Hopps, 46, West Perry Street, Salem, charged with failure to verify his address after allegedly having a conviction in the State of West Virginia for distribution and exhibiting materials depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct. Hopps was fined $30 for expired temporary tag.

Johnson, 25, Jones Drive, Salem, who pleaded guilty to obstructing official business for hiding from police who had a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday. Barborak, 22, Jones Drive, Salem, who pleaded no contest to obstructing official business for lying to police about Jordan Johnson not being at the home on Wednesday.

Cassidy A. Sandoe, 22, East Seventh Street, Salem, was fined $150, credited with seven days served in jail, ordered to serve an additional 53 days immediately and required 40 hours community service for theft. Sandoe tried to leave the Salem Walmart on March 3 wearing a stolen Bat Man watch valued at $15 on his arm, then after speaking with security fought with one of them while holding a closed blade knife in his hand. The charge was amended from a robbery charge, which was a felony.

Amy L. Corak, 36, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, was fined $650, credited with 10 days served in jail and had her license suspended for 180 days for aggravated menacing, two counts of possession of drug abuse instrument and disorderly conduct. On Jan. 20, Corak took a cab from East Liverpool to My Bar in Wellsville, then told the cab driver, Mark Mills Jr., she did not have the $6 fare and when he said he was calling police, she threatened to stab him with a hypodermic needle in her possession. The other count of possession of a drug abuse instrument stemmed from a reported overdose at an apartment above My Bar from July 2014.

Glenn D. Buckley, 48, state Route 518, Lisbon, was fined $800, sentenced to six days in jail, had his license suspended for a year and required 40 hours community service for OVI breath .17 plus first offense and assured clear distance.

Kathryn S. Burr, 51, Pinewood Drive, New Waterford, was fined $675, had her license suspended for 180 days, ordered to attend a three-day counseling program and required 30 hours community service for OVI first offense. An April 26 pretrial was set for Burr for a citation of driving under OVI suspension.

Caleb L. Rupp, 18, West California Avenue, Sebring, was fined $100 and had his license suspended for 180 days for marijuana drug paraphernalia.

A March 14 sentencing hearing was set for Matthew S. Bartchy, 21, Lexington Avenue, Salem, who pleaded no contest to domestic violence for allegedly striking Samantha Newton with his hands and with a shower towel rod several times.

An April 19 pretrial was set for Dale J. Cagey, 57, North Walnut Street, East Palestine, cited with driver’s view and control to be unobstructed by load or persons for allegedly opening his car door into the path of traffic.

An April 21 pretrial was set for Jill E. Silliman, 39, Overlook Drive, Salem, cited with driving under suspension.

Marc A. Sheely, 26, West Wilson Street, Salem, was fined $500 and required 60 hours community service for driving under FRA suspension.

Bryan C. Candle, 28, West Garfield Road, Salem, was fined $250 for criminal damaging. On Jan. 26, Candle walked into Gene’s Drive Thru in Salem, picked up a bottle of Burnett’s Pink Lemonade Vodka, opened it, smelled it, resealed it and then put it back on the shelf. Candle then repeated the process with a bottle of Smirnoff Sorbet Light Pomegranate Vodka. The two unsellable bottles cost the business $20.

Columbiana County Municipal

In Columbiana County Municipal Court, Chad E. Ratliff, 44, High Street, Salineville, was bound over on a theft charge after waiving his right to preliminary hearing. Ratliff is alleged to have reconnected the water service to his home, stealing $569 in services from Buckeye Water District and $637 from the Salineville Public Utilities Sewer Service.

Marie A. Kaiser, 67, Spillway Road, Lisbon, was fined $830, sentenced to 10 days in jail and had her license suspended for three years for OVI refusal with prior within 20 years, marked lanes and a seat belt violation.

Michael J. Spencer, 28, Haessly Road, Hanoverton, was fined $575 and sentenced to eight days in jail for driving under suspension, backup lights required and two counts of violations of a temporary protection order for contacting Lakieshia Richardson on July 15, 2015 and being in a vehicle with her during a traffic stop on Nov. 17, 2015.

Kyle A. Tremain, 26, state Route 45, Lisbon, was fined $550, required 20 hours community service and had his license suspended for six months for possession of marijuana and two counts of driving under suspension.

Scott D. Whitaker, 49, Cannons Mill Road, East Liverpool, was fined $300 and credited with 28 days served for disorderly conduct and a second disorderly conduct amended from assault for striking Nancy Dickson in the mouth and refusing to calm down for police.

The credit card was reportedly used by Heffner to make purchases at Campbell’s Grocery, state Route 45, in Madison Township, to purchase $143 in merchandise.

A March 10 preliminary hearing was set for Cassidy A. Sandoe, East 7th Street, Salem, charged with robbery for allegedly shoplifting a Batman watch valued at $15. At one point he fought with Walmart security employese while trying to flee the security office on Thursday.

An April 26 pretrial was set for Rachel M. Seals, 37, Somer Street, Leetonia, charged with theft for allegedly shoplifting fake nails valued at $3.22 from Family Dollar on West State Street, Salem, on March 3.

Columbiana County Municipal

In Columbiana County Municipal Court, David Lucas, 28, Lynchburg Road, Kensington, was bound over to the grand jury on a rape charge for allegedly going into a locked bedroom, tying up a relative, drugging her and sexually assaulting her.

Eric Saeger, 54, U.S. Route 62, Damascus, was fined $1,075, sentenced to 60 days in jail and had his license suspended for two years for OVI first offense, open container, driving under suspension and speeding.

Louis Pilati, 27, LIppincott Road, East Rochester, was fined $1,025, required 30 hours community service, sentenced to three days in jail, required a three-day counseling program and had his license suspended for 180 days for OVI first offense, tail lights, marijuana possession and marijuana paraphernalia.

James Hill, 20, Beaver Falls, Pa., was fined $825, had his license suspended for six months, required 30 hours community service and placed in a three-day counseling program for OVI first offense and possession of marijuana. A lighted lights required and possession of drug paraphernalia citation was dismissed.

Kevin A. Miller, 32, Bowman Road, Homeworth, was fined $705, had his license suspended for six months, required to attend a three-day counseling program and required 30 hours community service.

Randall P. Hamrick Jr, 27, Dyke Road, Rogers, was fined $705, required a three-day counseling program and required 30 hours community service for OVI first offense and improper registration.

Joshua J. Gatewood, 25, Warren, was fined $280 and required 50 hours community service for driving under suspension and traffic control devices.

Tyler J. Gardner, 23, Prospect Street, Salem, was fined $250 for no license.

Desiree Johnson, 49, Youngstown, was fined $250 for driving under FRA suspension.

Timothy L. Phillis, 35, Canal Street, Hanoverton, was fined $250 for driving under suspension.

Richard L. McCarty Jr., 34, Forrest Street, Lisbon, was fined $200, required 30 hours community service, credited with a day served in jail and had his license suspended for six months.

Debra A. Fuson, 56, West Wilson Street, Salem, was fined $200 and required 20 hours community service for driving under suspension.

Robert Guthrie, 20, East Main Street, Salineville, was fined $150, credited with two days served in jail and required 30 hours community service for theft for stealing two Monster energy type beverages from Dollar General in Salineville on Feb. 19.

Robert G. McDonald, 25, Ellwood City, Pa., was fined $100 for possession or use of a controlled substance.

In Columbiana County Municipal Court Anthony Scruggs, 28, Steubenville, was fined $50 for possession of marijuana.

Casey Jones, 26, New Springfield, Mahoning County, was fined $250, placed on two years probation and required 30 hours community service for driving under suspension.

An April 5 probation violating hearing was set for John Thomas Krupa, 38, Industry, Pa., charged with OVI first offense and marked lanes.
