SALINEVILLE -- The Southern Local Touchdown Club determined the Easter holiday provided an unique opportunity for members to not only raise funds but also have fun while doing it.

Sans the bunny ears, club president Kristi See led the effort as the Southern Local Touchdown Club will host its inaugural "Brunch With The Easter Bunny" from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22 at the Southern Local High School. The "Egg My Yard" will be on Easter Saturday, April 4.

Club treasurer and See's husband, Gary, explained a new administration took over the club last year and was seeking to do more community outreach --Easter events offer a perfect opportunity.

In the past, the Southern Local Touchdown Club has sold apparel and operated the Wigwam Stadium concession stand at football games to raise funds. The club became sweet on community-minded events after a recent successful bonfire., she concluded.

The March 22 brunch cost is $8 per adult or $5 each youth younger than age 18. Cash, check and credit cards via Venmo (TDClub-2025) are accepted. Tickets are available either through purchase through the club's Facebook page up to March 20 or at the door the day of the event.

Adult members of the TD Club, which supports the district's football and cheer programs from age 7 to 12, are doing the cooking. Their menu includes pancakes, sausage, fruit, juice and coffee. Gluten-free options are available.

The Sees encourage guests to bring along their cameras to take advantage of opportunities to snap a photo with the Easter Bunny.

Members of the football and cheer squads also will be doing a "Egg My Yard" fundraiser in conjunction with the TD Club on Saturday, April 4, in the Southern Local School District area, which includes Wellsville, East Liverpool, St. Clair Township and Lisbon.

Patrons can book their spot for delivery of three profiled plastic egg packages: containing 30, 50 or 70 eggs to be hidden in a yard within those defined geographic areas from the Easter Bunny.

Prices start at $25 depending on which quantity of eggs you reserve. Orders must be prepaid. An additional dozen eggs can be added for $10 more.

Email club treasurer Gary See at garysee2@outlook.com name, address to be egged, package purchased, phone number and a desired special note from the Easter Bunny to accompany your delivery. Venmo also is available for this fundraiser.

The club also can be reached by direct messaging them through the Southern Local Touchdown Club Facebook page.

President Kristi See said interest in the Easter egg drop has been extremely popular and remaining slots are limited.
