East Palestine settlement payments to be sent out

EAST PALESTINE (WKBN) — For those impacted by the Norfolk Southern train derailment in East Palestine, settlement checks for property claims are supposed to be in the mail. This is part of the $600 million settlement agreement by the railroad to resolve class action lawsuits. Anyone living or owning property within 20 miles of the derailment site was eligible to file a claim. Epiq is handling the payments. Lisk, 20, Rainbow Road, East Liverpool, was cited for failure to yield after his westbound vehicle on state Route 558 struck a southbound vehicle on state Route 164 driven by Christopher Hamilton, 52, Timberline Drive, Columbiana, causing it to go off the road and strike a traffic sign at 3:42 p.m. June 30 in Fairfield Township. Lisbon Historical Society plans bus trip honoring William McKinley Lisbon Historical Society is planning a bus trip to honor the 25th President of the United States and Ohio’s sixth president.
