Hancock County Schools updating wellness policy

NEW CUMBERLAND — Hancock County Schools is continuing to accept public comments on proposed changes to the district’s wellness policy. The policy, listed as Policy EJ by the county school district, was last updated in 2023. The proposed revisions entered a 30-day public comment period at the end of June and include several amendments involving nutrition, physical activity and student wellness. Liverpool Township trustees vote to place fire levy on November ballot

LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP — During Tuesday’s meeting of the Liverpool Township Board of Trustees, the trustees approved the placement of a fire levy on the November General Election Ballot. If it passes the 1.45-mill additional levy should generate approximately $127,000 and would cost homeowners $51 per $100,000 tax valuation. EAST LIVERPOOL — City council held a special meeting Monday to vote on time sensitive ordinances. Ordinances voted on included an Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) agreement for the Riverfront Trail Project Phase 1.1, two authorizing the service safety director to enter into scope of work agreement and one to adjust budget appropriations.
