County treasurer extends second-half property tax deadline, launches online payment system

LISBON — Columbiana County property owners won’t have to pay their 2026 second-half real estate taxes until Aug. 21 after the July 29 due date was extended following approval by the Ohio Tax Commissioner. CALCUTTA – The St. Clair Township Police Department is losing an officer. St. Clair Township Police Chief Brian McKenzie told the St. Clair Township Board of Trustees during Monday’s meeting that officer Chase Askounes submitted his resignation effective June 22. Owner of dog involved in attack pleads not guilty to criminal charges

LISBON — A woman whose dog was euthanized after attacking and injuring a Beaver Local teacher out for a walk at Lake Tomahawk in May entered a not guilty plea Tuesday to criminal charges related to the incident. Brothers, 62, Tomahawk Drive, Negley, appeared for arraignment in Columbiana County Municipal Court for two counts each of charges of violating vicious, dangerous, nuisance dog acts, a third-degree misdemeanor, and duties after dog bites person, quarantine, a minor misdemeanor.
