Wellsville council advised of car show plans at Hammond Park

WELLSVILLE — A community member recently advised village council of plans to hold a car show at Hammond Park. Grant Barlow told council at its most recent meeting he will once again be part of a team organizing the Wheels in Wellsville Labor Day Car Show Sept. 7 at the park, with this year’s proceeds going to playground equipment for the park. Former Liverpool Township police chief in trouble again

LISBON — Former Liverpool Township police chief Jayson Jackson is facing another domestic violence charge, this time a felony, for punching a woman several times during a domestic which started Sunday night. Jackson, 53, Campground Road, Wellsville appeared via video for arraignment Monday morning in Columbiana County Municipal Court for a fourth-degree felony charge. East Liverpool school board approves new staff and personnel changes

EAST LIVERPOOL — The East Liverpool Board of Education Thursday welcomed new staff members who were present and approved multiple resignations, hirings and staff changes. Resignations were approved for Howard Williams, high school math teacher, wrestling coach and assistant football coach, and Erica Ward, eighth grade volleyball. Both resignations are for the 2026-2027 school year. County ESC approves changes in treasurer personnel

LISBON — The Columbiana County Educational Service Center (ESC) has hired a new treasurer and is also working to improve the Opportunity School. Current Treasurer Lucas Cooper’s resignation was approved by the ESC board in June. During a special meeting of the board in July the board approved hiring Sean Gaffney as his replacement. Cooper submitted his resignation in order to accept a position with the West Branch Local School District.
