Second-half real estate tax bills now due Oct. 2

LISBON — Columbiana County property owners now have until Oct. 2 to pay their second-half real estate tax bills, with the bills expected to be mailed out two weeks from this coming Monday, in mid-August. Columbiana County Commissioner Bryan A. Oak Glen youth league treasurer arrested for embezzling of funds

NEW CUMBERLAND – The longtime treasurer of the Oak Glen Junior Bears Baseball Association has been arrested on suspicion of embezzling at least $11,000 from the youth athletic league. David Andrew Brown, of Chester, was arrested Tuesday, according to Magistrate Court records, and charged with one felony count of embezzlement. He has since posted the $20,000 bond, and is scheduled to next appear in Hancock County Magistrate Court Aug. 12. Hancock County Schools provides meals to children during the summer

NEW CUMBERLAND - Hancock County Schools will, once again, offer the federally funded Summer Food Service Program, providing breakfast for children up to the age of 18 who would like to participate.
