Hancock County man charged with sexual assault, battery

NEW CUMBERLAND — A Hancock County man was arrested over the weekend in Pennsylvania on criminal charges.
County Sheriff Scott Gittings announced Tuesday that Caleb D. Blake was charged Sunday with one count each of sexual assault (second degree) and battery.
The investigation began in early December of 2025 with the incident being reported to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. Once learning of the investigation, Blake fled the area and was subsequently arrested in Pottsville, Pa. by the Pottsville Police Department.
Blake was held at the Schuykill County Prison until he was extradited back to West Virginia.
He is currently housed in the Northern Regional Jail, where he is awaiting arraignment at 9:20 am Jan. 22 before magistrate Steve Svokas.
He is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
