EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool City Schools recognize Greyson Fitch and Donavan Shallcross, two student musicians from East Liverpool High School who were selected to perform with the 2025 Ohio Band Directors Conference (OBDC) Honor Band held at the University of Akron.
Selection to the OBDC Honor Band is among the highest achievements for a high school band student in Ohio. Students from across the state audition for placement, with only a limited number chosen to represent the very best in musical talent, discipline, and performance excellence.
Greyson Fitch and Donavan Shallcross performed under the direction of nationally recognized conductors and alongside elite student musicians during the statewide professional conference, which is attended by thousands of band directors and music educators. Their performance showcased not only their exceptional musicianship, but also the strength of the instrumental music program at East Liverpool High School.
“Greyson and Donavan demonstrated extraordinary commitment and excellence through this achievement,” said Megan Hoffrichter Hernandez, director of communications for East Liverpool City Schools. “Being selected to the OBDC Honor Band places them among the top student musicians in Ohio. We are incredibly proud of how they represented our school and community on a prestigious statewide stage.”
The Ohio Band Directors Conference Honor Band provides students with advanced collegiate-level rehearsal experiences while offering them the opportunity to learn from some of the most respected music educators in the nation. Participation also exposes students to higher education and professional performance pathways within the music industry.
