Yellow Creek voters have option of three candidates for two trustee seats
YELLOW CREEK TOWNSHIP — Approximately 1,300 registered voters in Yellow Township will have the opportunity to decide which two of the three candidates will fill the two board of trustees seats up for grabs in the 2025 General Election to be held on Nov. 4 or during the early voting period which started Oct. 7.
Candidates include Dalton Frischkorn, Daniel Galeoti and Richard Russell.
Richard L. Russell, 61,
Frischkorn Drive
Richard Russell, a 1982 graduate of Stanton High School with a vocational education in Welding Technology, Basic and Residential Electricity, Motor Control Circuits and CDL (Commercial Driver’s License), worked for 41 years in maintenance where he had both hands on and supervisory experience.
His most recent employment was with FCI Elkton from which he retired. He has also worked for the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office/jail and Summitville Labs.
Russell is a Wellsville resident whose family consists of his wife Staci of 32 years, two grown sons, a daughter-in-law and three grandchildren.
He enjoys supporting the local fire departments, especially the two departments his sons work at.
Russell has never held an elected office or been appointed to serve and has never been convicted of a felony.
He lists his qualifications for trustees as his vast range of qualifications in the maintenance field, both residential and commercial, including working on and with a variety of equipment such as dozers, graders, rollers/compactors, skid steers, tractors, mowers, trenchers, backhoes and dump trucks.
He said he has also hauled equipment on trailers and worked with asphalt pavers and patching materials, sustainable drainage systems, and he understands blueprints.
He has managed projects with budgets from design to completion, and he understands aggregate materials and their uses.
“Working with equipment and preventative maintenance has always been something I truly enjoy,” Russell said. “I realize the necessity of maintenance and have always been very attentive to the importance of it.”
Russell has also overseen work crews and payrolls and has no problem working with people.
Russell said he is seeking to be elected as a trustee because he is a retired person who enjoys staying busy, and he believes he can be an asset to the township with his energy level, knowledge and fresh prospective.
“I have lived in the township for 27 years. Raised my sons here,” Russell said. “I am vested in this community. With my experience working on multiple projects, budgets, and ordering materials, I am a strong candidate. I am also a patient, fair person who will listen to the people of this township.”
Election responses were not received from candidates Dalton Frischkorn and Daniel Galeoti.
