Traffic stop yields suspected narcotics
LISBON — A Youngstown man is facing charges after a traffic stop Wednesday in Elkrun Township yielded suspected narcotics.
In a social media post, the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Jonathan Kerchofer and his K-9 partner Jimmy initiated the traffic stop and located suspected fentanyl, suboxone, heroin and methanphetamine.
The driver, Sterling A. Henry, 27, Youngstown, was taken into custody on misdemeanor charges, with felony charges pending lab results.
A pretrial was set Nov. 17 in Columbiana County Municipal Court for Henry, who’s charged with possess instruments to ingest for allegedly possessing several bags of suspected narcotics that were hidden in his pants and his wallet during the traffic stop. He was fined $200 for driving under suspension and failure to display valid sticker on Thursday.
