WELLSVILLE – The Kiducation Community Center recently welcomed representatives from the Ohio Department of Commerce in Columbus for the soft launch of its new Financial Literacy Program. During the event, the nonprofit’s founders, Jamie Mitchell and Aubrey Bach, were presented with a generous $6,150 grant check to support the program’s mission.

The Financial Literacy Program is designed to teach children critical skills to prepare them for their financial futures. Through hands-on experiences, participants will learn about budgeting, saving, spending wisely, and entrepreneurship.

This winter, the children will host a Winter Wellness Market, where they will create and sell their own hygiene products. This project will teach them the fundamentals of running a business while reinforcing the importance of financial decision-making. The children have already decided that proceeds from their market will be reinvested into the community to support those in need. Looking ahead to spring, participants will also organize a child-led Farmers Market, continuing their journey of financial learning through real-world practice.

The launch event also featured guest speaker Mirko Loncar of Rivertown Investors, who inspired the children by speaking on the importance of saving and investing from a young age.

Starting at $2.99/week.
