Newell Fun Day is scheduled for Aug. 1. Activities start at 11 a.m. with the water parade at 4 p.m. Mad River Men will perform at 3 p.m. There will be a cornhole tournament, dunk tank, bounce house, foam pit and food trucks as well as the Fun Day’s first 5K event Stop Drop and Run beginning at 9 p.m. Water barrels will line the streets of Washington Street, just bring a squirt gun. Fireman will have an obstacle course for the children to try their skills.

July 7 Choose To Lose Group met at Boyce Church on July 7 with leader Penny Perorazio presiding. The meeting opened up with the pledge of allegiance followed by the CTLG roll call. Pam Fouse gave the secretary’s report and Cassie Stephens gave the treasurer’s report. Both were approved as read. Jackie Wilson and Tassy Evereti were tied for the biggest loser. Pottery film screened at Museum of Ceramics EAST LIVERPOOL — Chagrin Falls resident Kenneth Koos came to the Museum of Ceramics on Tuesday, July 14 to show a 1929 16-mm film of the operations at the D. E. McNicol pottery. Though the pottery was founded in East Liverpool, production was moved to Clarksburg, West Virginia in 1928. His grandfather Kenneth Koos had taken the footage and had supplied the titles on the cards for this silent film.
