Tops 1341
Tops 1341 met at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church March 10, with Marlene Reynolds, co-facilitator, presiding. Pat Allison and Cindy Hayes were the best losers and Darlene Naukem was runner up. They chose candy and soda as the junk foods next week.
The drawing winners were: 50/50, Becky Andrews; food chart, Patty Gruszecki; weight loss, Cathy Wollam; junk food, Darla Varney; and jackpot, Naukem. Hayes was three times in the best losers book. Dorothy Garn and Chris Plunkett were eight weeks in attendance. Plunkett now holds the travel box.
Plunkett presented a program on the ability and advantages to maintaining a regular routine in daily life. Cheryl Myers will present the program next week.
The meeting opened with pledges and closed with concerns and The Lord’s Prayer. Anyone wanting further information regarding Tops Organization can can 330-424-5927.
WLC Club meeting
The WLC Club met March 3 at the Living Well Church with leader Mary Jarvis opening the meeting, with prayer led by Connie Hissam, who then took roll call.
The best loser was Martha Baxter and Barb Tranter wore the officers ribbon.
The challenge will be carried over and the 50/50 was won by Gladys Buzzard. The nonos for the week are ice cream and potato chips.
The contest is going well with each member having to lose half pound and keep a food chart. Next week’s task is to call or text a member for support.
Hissam gave the program titled “Stress Eating.”
Donna Lee gave the treasurer’s report and Brenda Young read the minutes. Both were approved as read.
Barb Try read a funny and then Jarvis closed the meeting wishing all a good week.
ELHS Alumni basement sale
The East Liverpool High School Alumni Association basement sale will be held May 1-2.
Items to be donated can be dropped off at the ELHSAA Clock Tower Tuesday or Thursday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. or by appointment by calling the Alumni Center at 330-385-0591. If no answer, leave a message. No clothing or bedding accepted.
Spring vendor show planned
A spring vendor show will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 25 at the Wellsville Carnegie Library, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Vendors, Chinese Auction and food truck will be on hand. All money raised will benefit future adult and children’s programming at the library. For information, call 330-532-1526.
