EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio -- Linda M. Hoppel, 81, of East Liverpool, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Crossroads at Beaver Creek. Linda was born in East Liverpool on Sept. 18, 1944, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruth B. (VanDyke) Barnes. She was a graduate of Beaver Local High School Class of 1962. Linda dedicated many years of service to the Beaver Local School District, where she worked as a bus driver and later in the cafeteria at Calcutta Elementary. Above all, Linda cherished her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who took great pride in watching her family grow. Linda will be remembered for her kindness and the deep love she had for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Preceding Linda in death was her brother John H. Barnes.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons Doug Hoppel and his wife Jodi and Todd Hoppel and his wife Beth; five grandchildren Carsyn Hoppel, Chansyn Hoppel, Chandler Carr and her husband Kris, Hillary Berger and her husband Jake and Harrison Hoppel and his wife Hannah and great-grandchildren Rhett Berger, Cassidy Berger, Beau Berger, Hudson Hoppel, Miles Hoppel and two on the way.
To honor Linda's wishes there will be no service. The immediate family will privately celebrate her life together. Arrangements entrusted to the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
