WEIRTON-The Hancock County Health Department will conduct a food handler class at 12:30 p.m. April 6 at the Weirton Senior Center, 3425 Main St., Weirton.
The class is open to the public and to anyone involved in food service, whether paid or volunteer.
One-year food handler cards are free to volunteers who work for a non-profit organization. For those employed in food establishments, the cost is $7 for one year, $12 for two years and $17 for three years.
The class covers such topics as personal hygiene, cross-contamination, and improper cooking and holding temperatures.
