The Lions — which went 18-0 in the regular season and advanced to the state tournament a year ago — repeated as the team champion at the Great Trail Invitational on Thursday. Junior Peyton Beaumariage was the individual medalist again with an eight-stroke victory. She shot an 18-hole score of 75 at Great Trail Golf Course. COLUMBIANA — The second race in the Clipper Cross Country Series was much list the first. Former Southern Local standout Logan Redfern and Beaver Local seventh-grader Samantha Williams repeated as the race winners on Wednesday. Redfern topped the 110-runner field in a time of 17 minutes, 11 seconds over the new 3-mile high school course at the Ward Athletic Complex. Williams was the top female runner in 20:00. GENEVA (AP) — European nations agreed Thursday to boycott the World Cup and all other FIFA competitions to protest Gianni Infantino's plan to sell stakes in soccer's biggest tournament to private equity investors.
