More funds needed for life-size Nativity

To the editor: I have been trying to raise money for a 14-piece life size Nativity. Mayor Bobby Smith has made arrangements that when it arrives, it could be placed in the Diamond Area of East Liverpool, near the beautiful Christmas tree that through the help of so many local residents we were able to obtain. The price of this Nativity is $12,800 including shipping from Christmas Night, Inc. As of today we have $10,740 donated for the project, again from local people. To the editor, Someone in Columbus has made the decision that our properties are worth more money and therefore more taxes. Supposedly house bills 129 and 186 were passed that will give (some) property owners a temporary refund in the next half of 2025. St. Clair police have an additional levy on for May, and Beaver Local is already complaining about the money they will lose.
