Free technical assistance for agroforestry and aquatic habitat in Appalachian Ohio

THE PLAINS, Ohio – Rural Action is providing free site visits and technical assistance to landowners in 44 Ohio counties, including Columbiana, Mahoning and Jefferson, for advice on agroforestry and wildlife habitat practices such as reforestation, forest farming, silvopasture, wildlife habitat and water quality protection through Rural Action’s Sustainable Forestry and Watersheds programs. NELSONVILLE, Ohio – The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), in partnership with its donors and affiliate foundations, is accepting applications for more than 50 scholarship funds supporting the educational and career goals of students in the 32-county region. 2026 scholarship applications are available through Sunday, Feb. 15.
