Holtz enters hospice care

College Football Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz has entered hospice care his family announced on Thursday. The 1954 East Liverpool High School graduate had given what he called his last public speech on Nov. 20 and celebrated his 89th birthday on Jan. 6. Holtz is most well known for leading the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from 1986 to 1996 in addition to being a college football television personality. Holtz has had health concerns in recent years but his family did not specify what was ailing him.
