Former Southern runner wins first Clipper event

COLUMBIANA — The 2026 Clipper Cross Country Series got off to a fast start Wednesday. Former Southern Local standout Logan Redfern topped the 103-runner field by covering the new 1.8-mile middle school course in 9 minutes, 54 seconds. There were 103 runners in the opening race at the Ward Athletic Complex. It was the debut on the new course that was necessitated by construction at the school.
