HANOVERTON -- United defeated Wellsville 24-26, 25-17, 25-19, 25-15 on Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles are 12-3 and 8-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. United will host league-leading Columbiana on Thursday.
For the Eagles, Kendall Erb had 15 points, three aces and 14 digs. Baylee Smith added 11 points, three aces and 29 digs. Lily Erb had 10 kills, 10 points and two aces. Chloe Dangelo had eight kills and three blocks.
Madie Drysdale led Wellsville with nine kills, eight assists, four digs and four blocks. Kenzie Bosco had seven kills, 11 digs and two blocks, while Aleena Owens added five kills, 14 digs and three blocks. Kaylee Kazee recorded 11 digs. Jonnah Sears had two kills, 10 assists, eight digs and three aces. Ella Betz added 11 digs and two assists.
Wellsville (6-9 and 3-6 EOAC) returns home Thursday against East Palestine.

EAST PALESTINE -- East Palestine’s volleyball team defeated Southern Local 25-11, 25-18, 25-23 to improve to 12-5 overall and 7-2 in EOAC play on Tuesday.
Destiney Burtyk led East Palestine with 17 kills, 11 points, four aces and six digs. Marley Blythe added five kills and 12 digs, while Kennedy Andre had 28 assists, eight points, three aces and seven digs. Emma Gingher recorded eight points, four aces, three kills and four digs. Cadence Vargo added four kills and four digs.
For the Indians (5-11), Delaney Beadnell had six points. Kiah Sloan added four kills and two blocks. Natalia Lopez had four kills and Eliana Forbes had six assists.
East Palestine also won the junior varsity match 26-24, 25-16 to improve to 12-3.
Alexis Ogle had 10 points, five aces and six digs. Delaney Demster added nine points, three aces and five digs, while Aliviana Valingo had five points, four aces and four digs.
For Southern, Ava Amponsah had eight points and four kills. Teagan Reed had five digs.
East Palestine plays Thursday at Wellsville. Southern hosts Lisbon on Thursday for its ‘Volley for the Cure’ night.
