SUBURBAN LEAGUE
CANFIELD -- The Suburban League Cross County Championships will be held today at the Canfield Fairgrounds.
Forty-school high schools are members of the league, including Beaver Local, Columbiana, Crestview, East Liverpool, East Liverpool Christian, East Palestine, Heartland Christian, Leetonia, Lisbon, Sebring, Southern Local, Springfield, United and Western Reserve.
The varsity girls race will start at 4:45 p.m., followed by the varsity boys at 5:20 p.m., middle school girls at 5:50 p.m. and middle school boys at 6:10 p.m.
Cars can enter at Gate 9 off Route 46.
POTTERS BEST BROOKE
WELLSBURG, W.Va. -- Addie Jones had 12 kills and Cameron Conley six aces and 20 assists as East Liverpool swept Brooke, 25-13, 25-21, 25-19, Monday.
The Potters improve to 10-2 and will host Wheeling Linsly on Wednesday.
Also for the Potters, Kendall Martin had eight kills, Hailey Board seven kills and three blocks, Addi Smith three kills and one block, Addison Boyle two kills and one block, Taylor Loedding two assists and 11 digs, Lillie White two aces and Peyton Tanner seven assists.
East Liverpool also won the junior varsity match, 25-20, 25-27, 25-19. For the Potters, Brilynn Jones had two assists, Katelyn Reeder nine kills and two aces and Maddie Campbell five aces and four kills.
