CHESTER, W.Va. -- The Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club held its latest Ohio River catfish tournament Aug. 15, with Chris Knox of East Liverpool taking first and second place.
Knox brought in the only two catfish caught during the rainy, muddy tournament. His first-place fish was a 25-inch flathead, while his second-place entry measured 20½ inches. The water temperature was 75 degrees.

A free kids fishing tournament will be held Oct. 3 from 1-4 p.m. for children ages 3-15. Prizes, food and drinks will be provided.
The club’s fall turkey shoots begin Oct. 4. Sign-ups are at 9:30 a.m., with shooting beginning at 10 a.m.
