ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- Beaver Local’s girls soccer team suffered an 8-2 loss to University in an OVAC Class 5A final on Saturday at St. Clairsville High School.
Braylee Armentrout and Maddie Fritsch had two goals each for the winners, 11-2.
Beaver Local is 9-2 and hosts Ursuline on Tuesday.
CLASS 5A BOYS
ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- Wheeling Park handed Beaver Local’s boys soccer team its first loss of the season with a 6-2 win on Saturday in the OVAC Class 5A final at St. Clairsville High School.
Kaden Mays had two goals for the Beavers, while Cael Dunn added an assist.
Grady Reed had four saves in goal for Beaver, 10-1-1.
Wheeling Park is 11-0-2.
CLASS 1-3A BOYS
WHEELING, W.Va. -- Wheeling Central Catholic scored three first half goals on its way to a 3-0 win over Columbiana’s boys soccer team on Saturday in the OVAC Class 1-3A final at Wheeling Island Stadium.
The Maroon Knights moved to 10-1-2, while the Clippers fall to 8-4-1.
Columbiana hosts United on Tuesday.
CLASS 1-3A GIRLS
WHEELING, W.Va. -- United’s girls soccer team came up empty in a Class 1-3A OVAC final on Saturday at Wheeling Island Stadium.
Loni Kusic scored three goals and had an assist to lead Wheeling Central Catholic to a 7-0 win over the Golden Eagles.
United lost for the third time in four matches to drop to 9-3-1, while the Knights moved to 14-1.
United will host Columbiana on Tuesday.
