CALCUTTA -- Beaver Local’s volleyball team defeated Indian Creek 25-12, 25-10, 25-13 on Monday.
Addie Thurik led the Beavers (7-2) with 15 kills, 13 assists and six digs. Olivia Opalenik had nine kills, four digs and two blocks. Lily Schrieber added eight kills, four aces, nine assists and nine digs. Taylor Pease had 14 digs, while Leah Schrieber had two kills, four aces and 10 digs. McKinnley Ferry finished with 12 assists, six digs and two aces.
The Beaver reserves also defeated Indian Creek 25-13, 25-12.
Makayla Jungfleisch had seven aces and four digs. Sophia Pease had five kills and two digs, while Jess Layman and Daisy McKnight each had four kills. Macie Bourne added three kills, four digs and four aces.
Beaver Local returns to action Wednesday at Wheeling Park, with the freshman match starting at 4:30 p.m.
WELLSVILLE 3, BRIDGEPORT 0
WELLSVILLE -- Wellsville’s volleyball team defeated Bridgeport 25-12, 25-12, 25-18 on Monday.
Madie Drysdale led Wellsville with six kills, five aces and two blocks. Kenzie Bosco had five kills, two digs and nine aces, while Aleena Owens added four kills, two assists, one ace and one block.
Ella Betz recorded eight digs and four aces. Jonnah Sears had 13 assists, three aces, two digs and one kill. Gabby Carr added one kill, one dig and three aces, and Irelyn Roberts had two kills. Kaylee Kazee had one dig and one ace, while Jayla Osborne added one dig.
Wellsville returns home today against Valley Christian.
TORONTO 3, SOUTHERN 1
TORONTO -- Toronto improved to 8-2 by downing Southern, 25-21, 25-11, 12-25, 25-12, Monday. The Indians are 4-6 and will host Heartland Christian today.
Katie Kellogg had eight points and eight kills and Ady Martin eight points and 11 digs for the Indians. Kiah Sloan collected seven points, eight kills and two blocks, Kalayah Crute eight kills and two blocks, Eliana Forbes 10 assists and Delaney Beadnell eight assists.
Toronto also won the junior varsity match, 25-21, 25-12. Payton Davison had nine points, three aces and four kills and Kennedy Sloan four points and three kills for Southern.
EAST LIVERPOOL 3, HARRISON 0
CADIZ -- East Liverpool’s volleyball team was a 25-16, 25-21, 25-18 winner over Harrison Central on Monday.
The Potters are 8-1 and will host Buckeye Local on Thursday.
Addie Jones had eight kills and Kendall Martin four aces and seven kills for East Liverpool. Cameron Conley totaled six aces and 12 assists, Lillie White four aces and 12 digs, Hailey Board four kills and two blocks, Addi Smith two kills, Taylor Loedding two aces and two assists and Peyton Tanner five assists.
The Potters also won’t he junior varsity match, 26-28, 25-15, 25-19. Ella Gunning had 10 assists, Maddie Campbell three aces and four kills and Catelyn Reeder four aces and two kills to lead the way.
