WHEELING, W.Va. -- Beaver Local freshman Eli Stewart took medalist honors on Thursday at the OVAC Class 5A golf tournament at the Jones Course at Oglebay Resort.
Stewart, who started the day with a triple bogey on No. 1, finished with a 73. On the back nine, Stewart had three straight birdies to win by four strokes.
Team scores were not made available.
CLIPPERS TAKE SECOND
WHEELING, W.Va. -- Columbiana’s boys golf team finished second on Thursday at the OVAC Class 3A golf tournament at the Crispin Course at Oglebay Resort.
The Clippers shot 323 as a team which was second behind Wheeling Central with a 304.
For the Clippers, David Masters had a 77, Luke Struharik 81, Nick Klindworth 82 and Trenton Hall 83.
