AKRON — West Branch’s girls flag football team completed its regular season at 10-0 and now will look to do some more damage in the playoffs.

The Warriors received the No. 3 seed in the Cleveland Browns regional tournament which takes place starting at 5 p.m. on Monday at the University of Akron’s Infocision Stadium.

The Warriors will meet the No. 14 seed St. Clairsville — 27-25 and 41-19 winners over East Liverpool in the regular season — in the first round at 6 p.m. If the Warriors win that one, they will play the winner of No. 6 Midview and No. 11 Westerville North at 7 p.m. The semifinal round will be at 8 p.m. and the final is slated for 9 p.m.

The top four finishers advance to the state championship tournament set for May 16 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium along with the top four finishers of the Cincinnati Bengals tournament.

The setup will feature four playing fields, each 25 yards wide by 70 yards long.

West Branch athletic director Ryan Wolf said he believes admission to the regional tournament will be free due to the Cleveland Browns demanding that no admission be charged at any of their events.

“I can’t say what the parking charges will be,” Wolf said.

The state championship tournament will be run by the Ohio High School Athletic Association. More details will be forthcoming on that at a later date.

Starting at $3.75/week.
