East Liverpool, Beaver Local ousted
CAMBRIDGE 10, EAST LIVERPOOL 0
CAMBRIDGE — Dawson Geese and Garrett Carpenter combined on a one-hitter as fourth-seeded Cambridge blanked 14th-seeded East Liverpool, 10-0, in five innings in a Division IV sectional opener Tuesday.
Geese gave up a singled to Dre Brown single leading off the second inning and struck out 10 in 4 2/3 innings. Carpenter got one out.
Cambridge improves to 16-8 and will host ninth-seeded Claymont on May 27.
Carpenter and Mason Gregg each had three hits, two RBIs and two runs for Cambridge. Derrick Patterson hit a double and a single.
Donovan Shallcross took the loss for the Potters, giving up seven runs, four earned in 3 1/2 innings. He struck out three and walked two. Aiden Durt went two-thirds of an inning, allowing three earned runs with one walk.
Paxton Grimes doubled and singled and Aiden Dray singled twice for the Beavers.

CLAYMONT 12, BEAVER LOCAL 1
CALCUTTA — Fifth-seeded Beaver Local didn’t have a fair shot against ninth-seeded Claymont in a Division IV sectional opener Tuesday.
Ethan Fair went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double and six RBIs to lead Claymont to a 12-1 win.
Claymont snapped a three-game losing streak to improve to 10-16. Claymont will play at fourth-seeded Cambridge on May 27. Beaver Local drops to 17-10.
Nolan McMorrow also had three hits, including a double, and scored two runs.
Nate Downing was the winning pitcher, giving up one earned run with four strikeouts and two walks.

DODDRIDGE COUNTY 10, Oak Glen 0
WEST UNION, W.VA. — Sixth-seed Oak Glen managed two hits and dropped a 10-0 decision to second-seeded Doddridge County in six innings in a West Virginia Class AA Region 1 game Tuesday.
Oak Glen (12-20) suffered its first loss in the double-elimination tournament.
James Rohebeck and Luke Buckler singled for the Golden Bears.
Winning pitcher Caleb Hall, Evan Kelley and Tristan Swiger combined on the shutout.
Brody Brockleman went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Malachi Kelley had a double, a single and three RBIs.
