But Beaver Local’s seven-run second inning was too much to overcome.
Call, Anderson and Brenna Jones opened with consecutive singles for a 1-0 lead and Eells walked.
Gianna Congrove hit a grounder to third base that wasn’t fielded cleanly to score another run. Thurik had a sacrifice fly to deep right field for a 3-0 lead.
Curtis beat out an infield grounder to shortstop with two outs to make it 4-0. On the next pitch, Wright hit a three-run homer over the left field fence for a 7-0 advantage.
Philo sophomore pitcher Lexie Charles only gave up three more runs. Charles struck out seven and walked one.
Philo drops to 8-12, including a 4-12 mark the last month. The Electrics have six losses by two runs or less.
