Potters split doubleheader against St. Clairsville
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — East Liverpool’s softball team split a pair against St. Clairsville on Saturday.
In the first game, the home team won 13-6. For East Liverpool, Trinity Pearson had three hits including a double and three RBIs. Addie Jones, Alanna McGonigal and Meadow O’Rourke had two hits each.
Rayne Faessel was the losing pitcher with three strikeouts and three walks in six innings.
In the second game, the Potters got eight strikeouts and a walk from Tatum Fink in a 1-0 win. Jones had two doubles and a single. Faessel had a triple and Pearson had two hits.
East Liverpool is 3-3 and will be at Indian Creek today.

Wellsville 9, Malvern 7
MALVERN — Aleena Owens had four hits including two RBIs as Wellsville edged Malvern 9-7 on Saturday in softball action. Rylee Brown added two hits and an RBI. Karolynn Cataldo had a triple and two RBIs.
Makayla Landess was the winner with nine strikeouts and two walks over seven innings.
Wellsville (3-3) hosts Southern today.

Salem 14, East Liverpool 9
EAST LIVERPOOL — Bairon Exline had a home run, double and two RBIs as Salem dropped East Liverpool 14-9 on Saturday.
Braydon Van Dyne added four hits including a double with three RBIs. Marshall Boron had a hit and two RBIs as did Bray Hendricks. Cameron Martin had a hit and three RBIs.
Boron was the winning pitcher with four walks and four strikeouts in three innings.
Braden Duke had two hits including a double with two RBIs for the Potters. Elliott Fitch had a double.
Duke took the loss with two walks, two strikeouts and five earned runs in 2 1/3 innings.
Salem is 1-1 and hosts Ursuline today.
East Liverpool is 1-5 and will be at Indian Creek today.
