Golden Bears get the best of Crusaders

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Oak Glen’s James Rohbeck had quite the day against Steubenville Catholic Central on Monday as he had two triples, a double and nine RBIs to lead the Golden Bears to a 14-4 win in five innings.
Josh Maher added three hits. Christian Chappell had two hits and two RBIs.
Maher was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts and three walks over four innings.
Oak Glen (4-8) is at Weir High today.

WELLSVILLE — In a game with 11 errors and 35 walks combined Southern Local came out on top with a 25-11 win over Wellsville on Monday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.
For the Indians, Mason Sosack and Mason Pitts each had a double and four RBIs. Jaylen Pitts also had a double.
For Wellsville, Ethan Morris had a triple, single and two RBIs. Austin Watkins had two hits and two RBIs.
Mason Pitts was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts and five walks over 2 2/3 innings.
Watkins took the loss with nine walks and a strikeout over an inning.
Southern is 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the EOAC. Wellsville is 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the league.
The two teams will be at Southern on Wednesday.

WELLSBURG, W.Va. — Beaver Local’s baseball team got three hits including a double with three RBIs from Paxton Grimes in a 5-2 win over Brooke on Monday.
Grimes also was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts and two walks in a complete game effort.
Beaver Local is 3-1 and will be at Madonna today.

WINTERSVILLE — James Brothers struck out nine while giving up just three hits in Indian Creek’s 9-0 win over East Liverpool on Monday.
Dre Brown, Carstin Suznevich and Elliott Fitch had hits for the Potters.
Noah Kinsey was the losing pitcher with two strikeouts and a walk in three innings.
East Liverpool (1-6) hosts Indian Creek on Wednesday.
