Beaver Local 6, Edison 1

RICHMOND — Beaver Local used a five-run fifth inning and the arm of Addie Thurik to beat Edison, 6-1, Saturday.

Thurik struck out 14 and walked one in tossing a four-hitter.

Mya Anderson doubled and singled, while Gianna Congrove and Ally Wright both singled twice for the Beavers.

Beaver Local (12-2) will host Indian Creek today.

Edison (6-5) hosts Cambridge on Tuesday.

Buckeye Local at East Liverpool

EAST LIVERPOOL — After opening with seven scoreless innings, Buckeye Local broke through with a 3-0 win over East Liverpool in eight inning and an 8-3 win in the second game for a Saturday sweep.

Buckeye improves to 5-4, while East Liverpool drops to 4-9.

Karlie Lander pitched the eight-inning shutout in the opener, striking out 12 and walking one.

East Liverpool’s Tatum Fink tossed a two-hitter, giving up one earned run with 12 strikeouts and four walks.

Meadow O’Rourke had two hits for the Potters.

In the second game, East Liverpool’s Kylee Evans went 4-for-4 with two doubles. Trinity Pearson also hit a double.

Rayne Faessel took the loss, giving up five earned runs in six innings. She struck out five and walked two.

East Liverpool will play at Harrison Central today.

Oak Glen wins two

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Mattie Carney gave up two runs and five hits over nine inning pitched in Oak Glen’s 15-1 win over Ravenswood and 9-1 win over Doddrige County at Milan Park on Saturday.

The Golden Bears have won six in a row to improve to 11-4.

Carney had three hits, including a double, scored three runs and drove in two more against Ravenswood. On the mound, she gave up three hits and struck out six in three innings.

Marleah Lough had three hits and three runs and Brayley Lash scored three runs.

Against Doddridge County, Carney scattered two hits and struck out 11 in five innings. She also hit a triple and drove in two runs.

Lash tripled, singled and scored two runs. Lough doubled and singled, while Kynslee Landess and Kylie Robinson each doubled.

Oak Glen will host Steubenville on Thursday.

Southern at Malvern

MALVERN — Raelea Carosiella collected four doubles, drove in six runs and scored five more as Southern swept Malvern, 24-12 and 9-8, in a pair of five inning games Saturday.

The Indians have won four in a row to improve to 5-5.

Makenna Jones had a triple and a double with five RBIs and five runs and Destiny Huffman had five hits, including a triple, on the day. Riley Digman also tripled and Addison Anderenok scored four runs.

Addy Martin and Anderenok earned complete-game victories.

Southern will host United today.
