EAST PALESTINE — Beaver Local’s boys track team won just one event, but was consistent through the ranks as it captured the East Palestine Bulldog Invitational on Saturday at Reid Memorial Stadium.

Jack Nocella took the high jump with a clearance of 5 feet, 8 inches to earn Beaver Local’s lone event win.

Oak Glen’s boys team had a strong day as well with six event wins.

Charles Oliver took first in the 100-meter dash in 11.57, while Logan Murray won the 200 in 23.22. Murray also won the 110 hurdles in 16.18.

Oak Glen’s 400 relay (45.22) and 800 relay (1:35.81) also won.

In the shot put, Orien Bone took first with a best throw of 55-6.25.

The hosts had wins in the 400 by Braydon Plum (51.32), 300 hurdles by R.J. May (43.10) and Drew Bycroft in the long jump (19-5).

The East Palestine 1600 relay also won in 3:43.11.

Rootstown won the girls meet with 121 points. Oak Glen was third with 81 points.

Oak Glen’s 1600 relay team won in 4:26.42.

For Southern Local’s girls, Maddy Jones won the shot put (37-9.25) and discus (109-4).
