RAYLAND — Beaver Local got a single, double and three RBIs each from Jett Johnson and Braxton Hickman in a 9-1 win over Buckeye Local on Friday.

Reid Schwerha added a double and single, while Peyton Martin had two hits. AJ Bowser had a double and RBI.

Martin was the winning pitcher with 13 strikeouts and a walk over seven innings.

Beaver Local (7-6) is scheduled to play a doubleheader at East Liverpool on Saturday.

United 10, Lisbon 0

NILES — United’s baseball team got off to a great start with five runs in the first inning as the Eagles beat rival Lisbon 10-0 on Friday on the new artificial playing surface at Eastwood Field, the home of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

Carter Simmons led the Eagles offensively with two doubles and four RBIs. Nick Lutes had a double and three RBIs. In all, United had five hits.

Kadin Schonauer earned the win with six strikeouts and two walks in six innings.

Lisbon was limited to three singles.

Bryce Esarey was the losing pitcher as he was chased after only getting one out in the first inning. Esarey walked four and struck out one while giving up five earned runs. Lisbon pitchers walked 10 Eagles.

United is the lone unbeaten team on the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference slate.

United (8-2, 7-0 in the EOAC) is at West Branch on Saturday.

Lisbon (4-5 overall, 3-1 in the EOAC) is at Chaney on Tuesday.

WELLSBURG, W.Va. — East Liverpool blew a seven run lead in an 8-7 loss to Brooke on Friday.

East Liverpool led 7-0 in the top of the fourth before Brooke started its comeback.

For the Potters, Rayne Faessel had three hits with an RBI. Addie Jones had a single, double and three RBIs. Trinity Pearson, Johanna Vantilburg, Kylee Evans and Alanna McGonigal had two hits each.

Tatum Fink took the loss in relief with two strikeouts and no walks in an inning.

East Liverpool is 5-11 and will be at Steubenville Central today.
